6 Series (F12) [Official] BMW 6er Coupe (F13)

The third generation of the BMW 6 Series consists of the F12 (two-door convertible version), F13 (two-door coupé version), and F06 (four-door "Gran Coupé" version) executive-sized grand tourers. The F12/F13/F06 generation is often collectively referred to as the F12. Production: March 2011 – September 2018.
Looks stunning... just how I remember it!

For me, the biggest improvement on the 6er has to be that interior. Admittedly the previous interior was terribly dull for a sporty GT like the 6er, but the F13 looks so inviting with that blend of dynamic and elegant design elements.

Congrats on the new car...enjoy it thoroughly! :usa7uh:

Well I thought I would jump in. As a new Coupe owner, all I can is she is fabulous. I will take my Coupe over a CL any day. They parked her in front of a CL a tthe resuturant last Saturday. If you are a Mercedes person then of course you have your preference, HOWEVER if you are a BMW person then this car rocks in about every way! Enjoy the photos!

Looks awesome, congrats.

I envy you for taking up the task of attempting to keep that gigantic hood space free of swirl marks (black paint). You are a warrior of car enthusiasts! :D

What made you decide to go from a big 4-door luxury sedan to the 6er? Usually people go the other way as the year's move along? :)

^^ Of course not ;) People in the middle of a busy career usually need the 4 door saloon as it's way more practical. When they slow down later on, it's time to think about themselves, rather than others.

Guys,

Thanks for the nice comments. I really love her. It is such a big change over my 2008 750i.

Hmm yeah it's quite a change. Can you point out exactly what the changes are that stand out for you? I'm thinking about space, interior design (and quality), dynamics, tech (LED lights, 8 speed) etc.

Thanks!

I got the 750i because I hated the "Bangle Butt" on the last generation 6er. The 750i was excellent, and I may step up to a B7 at some point, BUT the more I drive my 6, the better I like it. Just plain fun. I love the rumble. It gets a lot of looks and
the styling is also great.

Klier,

There are many things I love about it. First I think the styling is pure classic BMW brought up to today. I feel the way I did when I had my '87 M6. The technology, now that I have it mostly figured out (Watch out for crappy iphone cradles), is great. I love the multi media: Pandora, Web radio, HD Radio, Sirius, Iphone (Ipod) and the fact that I can look at every song in Sirius versus looking at channels. The interior is really different and quality. I know people will pooh, pooh this but a friend thought it looked like the interior of a Maserati. The fun factor is high, it has a bunch of get up and go. Maybe its not fat enough for sum, but at this point I cant let it loose until broken in, BUT even so it is fast enough for me. It has a nice rumble/Gurgle in the exhaust and reminds me of my current Mustang GT.

I love my color combo including including the wood. The Carbon Black is an awesome shade of Deep Dark Metallic Blue.

Actually my 750i was Jet Black and I will not do that again. I know I will get the swirl marks, but I love dark cars

A Mustang GT and 6-Series? A man after my own heart.

Muscle Car & Euro refinement together is the way!

Guys,

Please stop by the car owners thread and post some more pics and give a drive report....please! This car is at the top of my list.

6er interior quality is better than any Maserati ever made. Period. Previous 6er already had that in check.

And yeah, Carbon Black is one of the all time classic colors from BMW. Can't go wrong with it, ever.

^
If there is one thing all Maserati's lack it's an interior;) Always looks as if they have sourced the HVAC controls etc. from 100 different suppliers, nothing really match.

And those airbag opening seams......terrible, but hey thats the price you pay for the styling and the engine.

^^ok, ok, when I saw the early pictures of the 6er with the M-kit, I thought it looked good, but wasn't blown away. Now after seeing that video and Houston Bimmer's car, it looks like the absolute tits! Absolutely beautiful with the right amount of aggression. You can really see that that the designers were really influenced by the original 6-series. Also, the LED headlights are a must.

I've seen the convertible briefly in real life, one of these days, I need to venture to a local dealership and check out the coupe.

Marcus, you will dig this...

The 6er is not my cup of tea, but gorgeous it is.

Brilliant, gorgeous video. It reminds me of BMW in the 90's for some reason (and this is a good thing), when as a kid/teenager and BMW was so classy, frills free and.... well.... how they're presenting themselves with that car and in that video.
