6 Series The BMW Concept 6 Series Coupé

The BMW 6 Series is a range of grand tourers produced by BMW since 1976. Successor to the E9 Coupé.
I can already picture the face-lift fixing that area and making a bit more substantial, as weird as that sounds.

Very, very, VERY weird. But to each his own I guess. I think the 6er has the hottest BMW front in many years.

Artist, many thanks for all those pics man! Brilliant.

Yeah, I dunno. I gotta see it in person to make a true judgement.

For the record, I love the F01's front, which so many people seem to hate. I think its more regal and dominant approach to the BMW nostril look is my favorite interpretation of it in the new lineup. Of course, that face would be ludicrous and inappropriate on the smaller/sportier models.

Well, at least we're going to get a lot of real life pics from the showfloor the coming days :)
Will be better to make up your mind with a lot of real life photos!

Amazing,,,,,each day I like it more!!
Only one thing wrong with it,,,,,,,,,,,365 lllllooooonnnnngggggg days of waiting!!!

They should have left the blankers are under the main headlights empty as in the GC Concept.

Inquiring minds want to know:

I wonder if there is more cup-holder sculpture/contraptions in this iteration?

:-)

~~Don´t care too much for cup holders,,,,,,no Starbucks here , where I live !!
Also don´t care too much for the two tone (beige and brown,,,blah!!) interior.
What excuse does BMW have for not integrating the navigation screen into the dash??
What a bright idea!! Maybe till September 2011 they´ll come to their senses!!

Looks a whole lot better in the live photos! (y)

Bump on the interior colors, although the line (except for the nav screen) are nice. I am thinking though, that a rich single color might really look nice, and emphasize the lines and proportions of the interior...deep tan, saddle brown?

To the nave screen, I hope that it could be better incorporated into the production car dash. It looks like an afterthought, stuck onto an otherwise nice design. With all the functions communicated via these screens in modern cars, a fixed, not articulated design (the new Audi A8 as an example of how not to do it) is appropriate. This thing looks like an old tombstone!

As to the cup holders, leaving them out altogether would suit me, although they can be handy. On my E63, the was an expensive, kluge-y work of art, that never came out of its hider. I threatened to remove it, mount it on a handsome piece of marble at an odd angle, and auction it as a piece of art. Such things are like re-dos of music or movies: do it clearly better, or skip it altogether.

Except for the nav screen though, there are solutions (unless BMW forces two-tone interiors on us) that are workable. With their growing emphasis on permitting buyers to equip their cars the way we want, we should be able to option our way around most of this.

I've been away a few weeks and it seems I missed alot.

My initial reaction to this new 6er is very mixed... I honestly don't know what to make of it.

I read a swedish newspaper with pics from the show. They said the new 6er is a beautiful car IRL :usa7uh:

I've seen the car in real life and the upright boot does work. The car is a bit of an anti-coupe. Coupe shaped but yet with subtle sedan traits. Contrary to my initial reactions, it's a rather handsome and classy body shape. my favorite detail is the grill which stands out with distinction.
