Your latest Desktop images II

thx, but which software do you need to use? It seems I can't install it with windowblinds. hehe, sorry for the hassle :D

Let me feel free to answer your question.
If you're using "visual style" theme like the one Luwalira has, you don't really need any particular software.
All you need to do is apply a patch to Windows XP, which will change some files in Windows that will allow you to change themes aside of the standard ones that comes with Windows XP. Which at first was restricted by Microsoft.
For me the advantage is that a theme software is no more needed, so no more running programs in the background which consumes system resources.
As if the theme is Windows XP itself.

The patch is called uxtheme patch.
This patch will modify the existing uxtheme.dll file that's located in Windows folder.

Hopefully you'll find your way out there. :)
Good luck!

It's dead easy Alex. Just minimize all windows and simply press "prt Scr" on on your keyboard. Then you open up a program like paint and press paste and save the image. :)

Oh... very nice, now i know.... awesome thanks!!!

Here's a picture of my wallpaper (photobucket). If you look carefully, you can see that the skin for my Firefox browser is brushed aluminium and Carbon fiber (Win XP). Originally, I was just going to go with a black theme for Xp, but I really like the CF. I was going to go for this look :

Ok so it's not very colorful

ok, i've tried the multi-patch thing several times now, it doesn't work. the theme just doesn't come into the list of possible themes for your windows.
there is a manual version under the first, but don't really understand that, so not gonna risk my computer.
damn

This is what you need to try do to get the thing to work... download the themes here.

Open the zip file... you'll only need the "Windows theme file". Take that file to c:... windows... resources... themes. Then you open that file (make sure you have your display property thing closed (the one with desktop, screen saver...)
and it will have your new theme there. After that all you need to do is press ok. Remember, have the Display property CLOSED.

this girl reminds me of some chinise cartoons i watched once...

BTW, i can see you use Limewire, too!

haha Giannis your right about the image! I actualy have a whole folder of Japanese anime wallpapers, it`s good to brake away from that industrial look
once in a while I think. BTW, limewire is awesome! I found songs I have not herd in years! :usa7uh:

it's funny that you like japanese anime. I have a friend who likes them...

BTW, Limewire is really good. I'm using it since WinMX broke down. I can find some great songs, even greek ones, that there is no other way to find...
