It was an idea for a variant on the Z1 a Z based high riding Activity Concept. But here is something else we divised a Z1 Coupe variant which would have been designated Z2.

This Z2 Coupe however was killed by the early nineties recession which claimed a lot of new cars under planning such as the 8er Cabrio , M8 and my personal favourites the 5er E34 Coupe and Cabrio which really would have taken the fight to the then Mercedes-Benz CE Coupe and Cabrio, they just worked and perfecttly complimented the incoming E36 Coupe and Cabrio.

But we can look forward to a modern incarnation of both the Z1 and Z2 in a few years time.

I would say there is a good chance we will see a 5 Series Coupe based on the F10 (maybe around the time of the LCI of the F10). They've clearly allowed enough space in the line up between the new 6 Series Coupe and the E92.

Very interesting idea. It could be right because the 6er is supposed to become a full family with coupe, cabrio, sedan and shooting brake version.... I mean, if the 6er becomes a sedan (gran coupe), surely the 5er can become a coupe...

I was talking about the e34 coupe, like we seen the e31 M8, e34 M5 convertible, e32 V16 "Goldfish" or e39 M5 Touring, I was wondering if we could see the car

But for a F10 Coupe, I don't see why BMW should make one ? There isn't enough space between the 3 series coupe and the new 6 series to have a new car, the only solution to me, is to make the 3 series coupe more upmarket to compete more with the E-Class coupe or A5/S5 and with this, the 1 series coupe will have real interest against his sister unlikely today.

And in the early nineties the gap between the 3 series coupe and the 8 series was huge, the 6 series didn't had successor, the 8er was at a another levels (If I remenber well, the 850i cost twice the price of a 635Csi), the e34 coupe was something which BMW should had made and which would had customers for it.
