World Premier Of The Mercedes-Benz C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Prime Edition

I just hope they do the right thing and make this engine available in the U.S. and it wouldn't hurt if it could be combined with 4Matic.

^ I see brisk sales for that unit in the US,imagine C,CLK,E and GLK powered with that engine!...$$$$$$ for MB:D

I have my doubts. It is all about image here. Hybrids, have it, oil burners don't. I know it sucks. May be with some clever marketing...

I know down to 93$ but it's been a while up and i thought people's wa of thinking got more cautious during that period.

OT,i think it'll go up again.

Your point was well made Tarek, I would have thought that things in the US would be starting to change -- especially with all the economic problems.

Things in the US have started to change, and I don't think they will go back to the way they were five years ago, fuel wize. Since the government is pushing for 35mpg by 2015 or 20 then companies will work toward that, they wont go back to lower mpg for a year or two before getting back "on track".
I hope Mercedes will ship over more diesel cars, a 50mpg C class would turn everyone's head.

Yep and diesel is now just about the same price as premium gasoline in my area. Diesels will begin to make more sense, again.

I thought that rising prices would change that mentality over there,no?

The problem is, like Merc1 said, that the price of diesel is basically the same or even higher than the price of gasoline. When you add the extra price of the diesel (additional technology like Bluetec) compared to gasoline model, it becomes clear why it will be a challenging task to sell diesels for the large crowds.

EDIT: I just read the article about the tax credits for the Bluetec models. That will help with selling them in a competitive price. :usa7uh:

Interesting engine. Good performance with low fuel consumption and emission.
Some more interesting points:
- Front tyres are bigger than the rear tyre???
- Only manual transmission?? Must be good if is mated to 7G.

Optional rear tires are 245/40-17. Just a typo.
