The annual L’Automobile più Bella del Mondo (The World’s most Beautiful Automobile) awards may not be as widely recognized as some of the larger international motoring awards but the event is now in its 15th year and there’s been no shortage to the amazing metal covered in this year’s competition. The winners were announced at a ceremony in Milan late last week after being scrutinized by a panel of artists, architects, designers, art critics and historians.

Star of the awards was Lamborghini’s stunning Reventon supercar, the winner in the category for special production cars. Other winners included much more affordable models such as the Fiat 500 and Bravo hatchbacks, winning their respective city car and hatchback categories.

Mercedes’ C-class was picked as the most stunning sedan and the Lexus LS600H was picked as the best looking luxury vehicle. Audi’s A5 got the coupe award, while the Opel GT won first prize for the cabrio segment. The Aston Martin DBS was picked as the most beautiful sports car and Citroën’s C4 Picasso got the MPV award.

Hmmm, I wouldn't use the word beautiful to describe the Reventon. Not to say that it's ugly, but c'mon.

+1

I've seem some real live photos and it just looks cool! Not beautiful and not gorgeous. Similar to the Enzo.

Forgot to say :eusa_clap for this... Kudos! The new C is doing great job in all areas it seems.:usa7uh:

If it only wasn't for that ugly rear...:D

Same case like by E90, great front/crappy rear, unfortunately...:t-banghea Imo, the rear looks worse on E90 than on C. The shape of rear lights is just wrong! C lass' rear lights are also without wow factor in it, too simply designed... No emotions at all.

Again, all of this afaic....:usa7uh:

The thing about the styling of the Lamborghini Reventon is it is utterly in tune with the current international design trends. The designers have taken many ideas currently seen in high-architecture and design ...and translated it into vehicle design -- the designers did a spectacular job IMO, the Reventon doesn't look like some riced-up Murciélago -- it has a character all of its own. It is undoubtedly destined to become one of the most important car designs of our time -- and aspects of its design will certainly filter down to lesser vehicles very quickly.

Having said all of that, the Reventon is not enormously revolutionary, much of the styling is very familiar to us already -- even the Mercedes ODC has a similar razor-edged and Chiseled overall feel to it -- this is a major trend happening right now in high-end product design.
