Sightings ***Wimmer Sightings: 2009 Mercedes-Benz E220 CDI Bluetec***

Well I hope not! The grain of the plastics in the 204 is its only flaw (besides the slightly boring dash design)...

I hope the dash is softer and less shiny in the W212, otherwise it'd be very disappointing.

At least the layout is supremely well designed, but a softer, less shiny material than the 204 is necessary!

I think it is a matter of opinion. There is really no written rule anywhere that specifically states that dark, grainy plastic is "cheap". :t-hands:

The W204 interior makes a really good impression on me overall once you get to know it better.

IMO, it's not only the dashboard's plastics' feel that defies quality in a car, but also all those little details that make the difference! But the feel of the plastics gives you a very strong positive or negative impression!

:t-cheers:

I just drove a 2008 C300 for 2 days as a loaner for my car that was being serviced and I can say that the interior plastics, especially the dash, look and feel rather cheap. I was so happy to get back to my 2006 E Class, both the interior and ride are so much nicer! (I Have the appearance pkg (USA), with the dark birdseye maple wood and charcoal leather)

Yeah...I don't min the grain in the C. It may be slightly rough and have a bit too much sheen in black, but the overall impression is great.

Still I wanted a change just for the sake of bitching journalist who look no further then their nose to judge quality. :t-crazy2:
