Difficult choice...
yea right
ok so in detail...
1. The M3-As soon as i saw the official pics i was in love with this car-ESPECIELLY with the 18" wheels. The design is full of purpose; the lines, the lights the diffuser, air dam, and everything else was designed for a reason. It seems that each part, whether beautiful or not, plays a role in engineering and aerodynamics. Additionally, the car is gorgeous from all angles. The 335i isnt. When the first pics of the 3 coupe came out, the overhang seemed long, the green house seemed a little tall, and the stance seemed a tad skimpy. The M3 takes care of all that-and turns a beautiful coupe into a beast of a machine. I like it. It leaves no room for assumptions...
2. The S5-As much as I despise the rear end of this thing, i have to hand it to Audi, they make a fine product. Every Audi I see is so well put together, so well executed that it seems you cant go wrong with getting any of them. The S5 design isnt anything special-yes we know that-but it is attractive. Plus with a rear biased quattro set up this thing should do pretty damn well on the track. Sure it isnt in the same league as the M3 but its a great car and i think its something everyone could appreciate. Nice job Audi.
3. CLK 63-It seems Mercedes products are always a bit of a let down especially when you come across them IRL. However, this thing is beautiful, if the pictures do it propor justice. Unfortunately it is the epitome of a "big engined benz". It has a small power boost, some fender flares and thats about it. Its not really a true sports car - it lacks a B pillar- and if it performs anything like the CLK 63, then the 335i will beat it around a track. Lets face it, even with the CF trim, the big diffuser and the air dam -this car is is a poseur.
4. CL65 40th edition or what ever- Ok, this came in last because I just dont like the new CL. I saw it at LA auto show and found the proportions to be awkward. THe car is huge and doesnt suit me personally at all. Its big, crass, and definitely not something i would want be driving. The image associated with it could be nothing less than pompous. I just dont want be "that guy", the 55 year old unmarried guy looking to get laid because he has money. LAME. So no this car doesnt suit me. Plus all that torque is absolutely useless. You only have two tires-you dont need that much power-its just wasteful.
