Allright, I know J50 is not the correct competitor to 720S, but IMNHO, 720S is just too freaking hot for 488 to even touch (488 was never a good looking car!). So, hoping whatever mid engined car comes out of Maranello next is inspired by J50, does it stand a chance in looks vs the 720S?

Tough call, but the 720S for me...Looks wise, the J50 is exactly what the 488 should have been in the first place, but performance also plays into my decision to go for the McLaren

I like the J50 but it has an air of 80s retro about it; it's hot but not entirely modern in my opinion. The same can't be said of the 720S

720S. The only thing the 720S has in the negative column is that the engine isn't that aurally appetizing from the youtube videos I've seen thus far. Hopefully the engineers can address that in time for production spec.

I can't get past the 720's front, but getting past that, and the res of it is pretty good. From that angle on the J50, it looks kinda odd, but from the front, it looks pretty good. I'd have to go with Tie.

Still very split. I find the J50 more beautiful in the traditional super car sense, but love that 720S dares to different and still look crushingly good. Most supercars that try diverge from traditional supercar looks ends up looking odd (Huayra, looking @ your fishface).

...so head says 720s, heart says J50, or is it the other way around, don't know!

720S is the best looking sports car at the moment and i can't wait to see how it will perform.

I'd take the 488 over the ugly 720S let alone the J50.

This 100%
The McLaren front is hideously fugly.

The 488 looks far superior to the 720S, but this J50 is on a completely different level.
'80s style my a$$, LOL.

Which is fine, but this is about the looks.

I am well aware the 720S performs much better.

Well, we'll agree to disagree on that, but I surely respect you opinion. That said, I would really like to see the J50 in person to pass judgment (though in pictures, it looks ace). The 720S, on the other hand, looks better in person than in pictures

'80s style my a$$,
Well each to their own choice but that J50 has the sharpest front end I have seen on any car, it looks like a pelicans beak and it has fugly long front overhang!

720S for me,488 is not bad looking, but it's already old.
Exactly. The J50 is over-familiar and doesn't present anything remotely becoming of a 21st century sports car. It's a 2016 308 GTS homage. The 720S is the future made real. Sure, it's got some controversial styling features but that's one of the great things about supercars - they can expected to present wacky styling features which, in the interests of the high-performance brief, can be much easier to justify. There are countless examples of this practice over the years: big wings, weird inlets, variable vents and so on...

200% this....I love the J50, but it is nothing but a mere retro-looking tribute car...The 720S, on the other hand, is 22nd century.
Ah, also, forgot to mention...The interior of the 720S is a damn sight better place to sit in than that of the 488/J50

Not a fan of either of them to be honest, I'd go for the 488. But out of these it'd have to be the J50.
