Which brand should I choose?

Hello everybody,

I have been given the chance to live in Germany and work there in a big retail company. My position allows me to choose between 3 car brands and at this point it is very difficult for me to choose the right one. The options are all for base model (if I want extras I will have to pay cash for this):

1. Mercedes A-Klasse
2. Skoda Octavia/Rapid
3. VW Golf 7

Can you please advice me, having in mind these are all base models (2015), which brand should I choose?
I will most likely use the car for city travel but at least 2 times per month I will use it to travel trough Europe.
Which one of these is the best?

I think the Golf will be the most comfortable and the most refined? The A-class, in its most basic spec is like a toy.

Definitely the Golf if your reluctant to buy extras.

2. Skoda Octavia/Rapid

Mind you that the Octavia and Rapid are like night and day. The Octavia feels and behaves like a grown up car, while the Rapid feels like an inflated Fabia. I'd stay away from the latter, unless all you are looking for is interior space and ease of use.

Golf is the best choice IMO.

AAh! choice between a MB or a Skoda........ painful to comprehend for a MB fan since childhood.

As for this thread....I'd take a Golf.
