So the S550 sedan won't get the new V8 for 2011. Oh well. You have to get a CL or S63 AMG to get one of the new V8s.

I guess the 2012 model year will be the big roll out year.

CL-Class Coupe (on sale: November)

  • Restyled coupe features new hood, fenders, grille, bi-xenon headlights with LED turn signals and daytime running lights. Rear restyling includes LED taillights, bumper-integrated exhaust pipes and reverse lights relocated to trunk lid.
  • Restyled interior includes new steering wheel design and interior colors.

so it's official now :O

:eusa_thin Wait a minute..That other press release said that the new engine would doubt in the S-class. Something isn't right...

I don't think that applied to the U.S. market about the sedans. Just a guess.

I'm reading on MBWorld that the S550 Sedan won't get the new engine until spring 2011 as a 2012 model. This kinda makes sense because the CL needs a new push something exclusive to get it selling again. After 2008 it started dropping like a rock.

I totally missed the S350 Bluetec with 4Matic. Thats a wise way to set the car up. Better to have it with 4Matic than without IMO. Now we'll see how well a premium diesel can really do. BMW and Audi no doubt will be watching the sales numbers too.

M

Hmm...Well if that is the case, I would hope they would putting the old V8 in the new CLS either. That would suck big time!

It even looks like the C350 won't even get the new V6 with the facelift...What is going on over there at Benz? Are we waiting for the C Coupe to put the V6 in? Or are we waiting for the New S-class and New C-class until the new engines doubt?

Very upsetting news!

Oh no..come on HoH you know the new CLS will have the turbo V8s. The 2011 model is the last stand for the current model.

M

It seems they have finally decided to make everything standard on the CL, which should have been the case from the beginning. It's a shame the CL65 didn't receive the MCT transmission, but I'm not complaining. It's still the best GT, IMO.

I wonder why it doesn't get ABC though? We probably discussed it here before, but I don't remember the reason why the CL doesn't get ABC.

I know someone who has a CL550 and he swears it drives much better than the S550 he had.

You still have the CL65?
