Hey there :) I´m new to this forum and before i start this thread i want to introduce my self. My name is Perla and i´m a gal from Iceland. I´m here because of my genuine love for german´s auto :)

Driven 130k km
with SMG shift system,
TV,
DVD,
Navigation system,
Harman Karon sound system,
Lowered suspension (not that i know for sure but i suspect coilovers)

Nice car, but AFAIK most E46 M3 S54 engines need an expensive revision around 90k KM. M3s produced between MY01 and MY03 often have probs with the big end bearings + oil pump, VANOS, etc. but a friends (MY07) Z4 M also has a lotta probs. Meanwhile he has the third engine in his car.

Is this your M3 and you want to sell it?

No this is my friends car and he doesn´t really speak english :) But i look at this car as my own, have driven it and saying that i´ve really found my passion in life is an understatement!

He is, yes, looking to sell the car for the right price so i though: why not give it back home :)

In Gemany you will get between 17.000 and 19.000 EUR plus tax (19%).

ok thank you for this :) But that is not nearly enough in icelandic krona hehe
I guess i go check out Norway hehe but i´ve heard that they pay much more for theese cars there :)

In Sweden, such a car would be about 230 000 SEK inc. taxes (184 000 SEK excl. taxes) if in good condition.

So, if selling to Sweden, that is the price you would have to aim at, probably a fair bit less.

Are you including all the extras? this car is far from being Stock...

That all depends on what type of extras you are talking about. Non-OEM parts will usually not raise the price at all, rather the the other way around.

I'm guessing this is a private seller. That would typically mean that local Icelandic VAT at 24,5% (someone may please correct me here if I'm mistaken, but from memory, Iceland is not part of the EU VAT area) will have to be included in the export price. Hence, upon import to e.g. Sweden, a buyer would have to add customs duties and VAT (approx. 10% and 25% respectively) on the sales price. Therefore, a sales price, FOB, should not be more than about €16k.

I'm not familiar with local Icelandic VAT/customs rules, so I will have to make reservations in this respect.

Yep 200-230K swedish kroner..
the extras are not valued on the used market..

I would try to sell it in Norway..cars are alot more expensive there..
But they are not in EU.. so the rules for selling foreign cars are special there, you should check with our norweigan members..

it´s been raised to 25.5% wich is a crime if you ask me... But the idea is to export it with me to Denmark with the smyril line sailing routes, so there will be no customs toll :)

If there are neither customs duties nor VAT to be paid to Denmark, then the same will most likely apply for Sweden if it is taken here as a part of a permanent move.

So if you are just going to travel, you don´t have to pay the customs, but if you do intend to move you have to? Sorry i guess i´m just really blond when it comes to this and i´ve never done it before.

Blondeness aside :D, the rules for moving permanently are different from when just making a sale. In the former case, if you take the car with you when moving, these is a chance that you could bring the car without paying cusoms and VAT upon import.

hehe :usa7uh: i like it! I sure hope it´s like it because i´m moving to Denmark and i´m probably going to take M3 and 2002 745 with me to sell for my friend :)

Good for you. Denmark is great, it is a friendly and beautiful country. However, I would advice you to consult a cusoms lawyer on the details. In some cases, you have to own the cars for a period in the "new" country before disposing of them under the exemption from customs and VAT provisions.

No, I take that back. I would not just advice you, I would actually urge you to do so.
