What (used) German car would you buy if you had $25k (in the USA)

Hey guys, I wanted to know what you would buy if you had around $25k and were looking to buy a German car. Preferably lower miles and powerful of course lol.
A friend of mine in the US is in the market to buy a car so I'm trying to help him out.

My choices were:

2005 C55 (40k miles)
2005 BMW M3 (40k Miles)
~2008 BMW 328i (with lower miles)
~2008 BMW 335i (with 40k-50k Miles)

What are yours?
Any tips are welcomed!

A well maintained E46 M3.

Raw and edgy. It is a hoot to drive even by today's standards.

m3, but c55 would probably be better for everyday driving
