Halfway through a hairpin bend, deep into the Welsh countryside with the tyres squealing hard and the local sheep running for cover, the image of chauffeurs and Pimms and deal-closing phone calls on the back seat were shattered forever. It might look like a high-speed drawing room for the ludicrously privileged, but in its heart the 2007 Bentley Arnage T is a genuine sports car...

OK, I must come clean on this; I have never really been a huge fan of the Arnage. I actually prefer the more formal and less fussy looks of its predecessor, the Bentley Turbo R.

I liked that one too, but it was always so rare in these parts.

I should clarify that the vehicle I posted above is actually a rare Turbo RT rather than a standard Turbo R.

My father had a Turbo R in the early 1990s, there is absolutely no doubt about it, the Mercedes S class was superior in so many ways ...but there is is something special about that old Bentley ...I'll always have a special fondness for that model, even though it has many flaws.
