The Mercedes-Benz W211 is the third generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class made from 2001 to 2009 in sedan/saloon and station wagon/estate configurations – replacing the W210 E-Class models and superseded by the Mercedes-Benz W212 in 2009.

:t-banghea I have no idea what happened to the boot, it was working just then and 5 min later it just won't open.

My brother closed the boot normally and it was shut. Then when the car is moving again, the dashboard shows the boot is opened, so I pulled over and check the boot, it is absolutely shut. When I press the boot release button in the car, I can hear the lock moving and unlocking but the boot still won't open. I tried the remote, and the actual metal key. Each time I can hear some noise, it sounds like the lock is jammed.

I am going to take it back to the service department tomorrow to fix it. Does anyone know any other way to open the boot? How are they going to open it? I seriously don't want them to damage the car. :t-banghea

2.5 years of ownership, 2nd problem. I hope nothing more will happen.

Maybe something was between the locking system and the boot. I know somebody who had this problem with his van, it was a piece of his fabric coverage that was jammed in the locking system...

^^Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing. If something gets caught in the metal pins/hinge thingy, then that could jam it.

The other way I know is if they is a key then twist the key in the "open" position and hold it there and pull up because other wise the electric mechanism simply unlocks it and the hydraulics pull it up.

Thanks for the suggestion guys, i tried all of your suggestions but it didn't seem to work, so I took it back to the service department.

As always the problem disappeared when we arrived at the dealership. :t-banghea The service guys took it in anyway and put it in a machine to check it. They say the car is fine, so we left without having to pay for anything. I did get a chance to have a look around the showroom and check out the new C-class and the CL500 again.

Just a photo of the warning while driving to the service department.

I don't know, but i guess explosives :D :D

PS. What was the first problem?

Explosives are my normal solution, but since it is our car, I won't try that yet.

The service guy said the lock didn't engage correctly so it was stuck and can't be opened even though the car thinks the boot is open. It is a bit strange, considering I have been opening and closing the boot for a hundreds of times in the past 2 years without an issue.
