FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Volkswagen (VOWG.DE), the world's fourth largest carmaker, is recalling just over 300,000 VW brand Passat mid-size cars due to three different problems affecting models from the year 2005 to 2007, it said on Friday.

Many have problems with a wiper motor, while some diesel-powered Passats can leak fuel and those equipped with a 200 horsepower engine may have a power brake vacuum line that may fracture at low ambient temperatures, resulting in the brake power assist becoming inoperative.

Alone in Germany, roughly 130,000 cars are being recalled, while in the United States and Canada, for example, some 62,000 Passats are affected.

hmm, not a good thing. A bad wiper motor may not be something that important, but some diesel-powered Passats can leak fuel and those equipped with a 200 horsepower engine may have a power brake vacuum line that may fracture at low ambient temperatures, resulting in the brake power assist becoming inoperative this is a problem...

The car makers really need some quality checks...

so it is true, VW quality is getting worse, which was why i chose the Subaru Liberty over the Passet.

Its true but just because its being recalled does not mean its bad quality, just built faulty lol ;)
Quality Control will probably get fired :D

At least VW have issued a Recall ;)

Luckily no recalls for the Phaeton yet. :D

This is definately not good... but there hasn't been that many recalls this year for VW (unless I slept through all of them), so let's put the machine guns away.
