Volkswagen Racing presents the SuperCiti & Early Citi R-line Prototype South African

I found this post by Glitter from forums vwvortex on the SuperCiti by Volkswagen Special Vehicles a division of Volkswagen Racing South Africa.
The white one is the SuperCiti with
-1.8T S3 motor with 197kW
-0-100km/h in 5.87 secs
-standing to quarter mile in 12.4 secs
The red Citi runs the 2.0 with
-92kW
-182Nm @4250rpm

This SuperCiti is owned by a South African who did futher modifications, power now is 388KW @ 488 NM.

A guy in our club has one of those Citi's with an S3 motor,and bigger everything,and a 6-speed quaiffe box,with a quiaffe lsd.All this and more all done by VW themselves.I think last dyno day it managed 388KW and 488 NM........

Yip, Daneel's car started out like the one in the Drive Mag. Problem is, they trans plant an entire front end sub to hold the motor. This alone will make it much more expensive. Daneel has changed the motor, with other pistons and goodness knows what. He changed the brakes to Audi TT units, a special trick quaiffe LSD, with an equally trick clutch...... enough power is never enough. Went for a spin in it and that thing is fast..... and stops like

Reminds me of the crazy modifications/engine transplants i have seen in Brazilian Mk II Golfs.

Absolutely! This is the car that you cannot kill, if you get what i mean. And they're still produced down there...

Normal versions are but these two are prototypes (not for sale), with the exception of the blue one that owner had connections & money
