M8 [Video reviews] BMW 8er/M8 Coupe, Cabriolet and GranCoupe (G14/G15/G16)

The BMW M8 is the high-performance version of the BMW 8 Series (G15) marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. Introduced in June 2019, the M8 was initially produced in the 2-door convertible (F91 model code) and 2-door coupe (F92 model code) body styles. A 4-door sedan (F93 model code, marketed as 'Gran Coupe') body style was added to the lineup in October 2019. The M8 is powered by the BMW S63 twin-turbocharged V8 engine shared with the BMW M5 (F90). Official website: BMW M

In light of the new forum rules, I thought this would be the best way to post videos so it doesn't bother those who want less clutter in the discussion threads.

The exhaust sounds mean here.

With regards to posting, I think a thread dedicated to all sorts of media where videos and pics are consolidated into one thread that's separate from the discussion thread could work. But the obvious issues are that discussions will arise in two separate thread. If the forum mod folks don't find this amenable, transfer this post as you guys see fit.

Thank you of the points you mentioned @hoffmeister_fan :)

The point of having new threads for videos / photos is to let folks who find a new video and want to share it just for the fun of it.

If you believe that the video you want to share has some points worthy to discuss them with other members, then I'd say it's okay to post in the main thread so not to have 2 separate threads, which may get confusing for the members not knowing where to go to for a discussion.

What you've done here is EXACTLY how it should be. It's a video thread dedicated to the 8er/M8 in whatever bodystyle. It's not hard to find as its in the 8er forum. BUT crucially, if someone wants to avoid clicking on a thread only to find a video and nothing else in the context of a discussion, they just don't click on the video thread. There are still a hardcore group of people who still can't grasp this, but hopefully the message will get through.

Look, if I want to find videos I'll go on YouTube for that. I come on here in the spare ten mins I've got to discuss cars, not spend most of that time clicking on threads with new posts only to find it's just a video that I've got no intention of watching.

Looks great , drives great and sounds great!

It looks excellent in that configuration, the black color and those wheels I think are the precise ones, the detail of the cabrio in the bullring is nice

For similar money it’s a no brainer get the 992 Carrera S, but as mentioned on several occasions BMW will make it easier to get into one with monthly finance. It straddles the line between GT and sports car like no other car out there, whether that will work for it I don’t know, but I’m glad an M8 exists.

In my way of seeing the M8 C, it is much more special within its line than the carrera S, it has almost 200hp more, and it is the top of the range, beyond that the sales of the carrera are very high, the M8 is designed and destined to a wider audience.
In my case, as in many, seeing the Porsche as daily is very difficult, so I should have other cars, however the M8 is more "open mind" and could be my only vehicle

The M8 is definitely cool and that 4 litre V8 isn't anything to sneeze at,but for the money, the Carrera S is the obvious choice. I can't believe both cars are so expensive, I'd gladly have a used 991.2 GT3 over either for that kind of cash.

I don't think there is any other GT in its class that makes 600hp so accessible thanks to switachable AWD. Yes, the CGT is AWD but on finance with 20-30% deposit contribution, the M8 will be much cheaper.

Joe Achilles likes the M8 Competition ....

He's somebody who started out making videos of cars from his local dealer. He's built up a relationship with BMW now and he's gained a lot of followers. I'm not taking anything away from what he's done, and he seems a nice guy, but I wouldn't take any reviews he makes seriously. So he likes the M8 Competition? I'd be amazed if he didn't!

Don't take these "car reviewers" as serious journalists.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
