In the latest issue of AutoBild's Sportscars edition there's a comparison test between the 685 hp MTM Audi RS6 R and the 733 hp HGP RS6. The MTM version -which already managed 330,0 km/h at Nardo last year- set a new laprecord for a station wagon around the so-called Mini-Nordschleife, the Sachsenring.

Under the hands of the magazine's pro-driver, Guido Naumann the tuned monster was 1,9 seconds quicker around the track than the basic-RS6, and it was also faster than the previous record-holder, the Mercedes E63 AMG S T-model.

The car performed very well on the straightline as well: with Launch Control it hit 100 km/h in 3,3 seconds. The 0-200 km/h time was 11,3 s; 300 km/h happened just after 35,7 seconds.

You can find all of the Sachsenring-laptimes here.

And here's a comparison video between the stock and the tuned RS6:

^According to Sport Auto this is the more powerful, 722-hp-version. It has 37-more-hp than what the AutoBild Sportscars-testcar had.
However it was a bit slower at the straightline, 0-100 km/h in 3,4 s (3,3 s), 0-200 km/h in 11,4 s (11,3 s) and 0-250 km/h in 19,2 s (18,8 s).

Of course, we have to keep in mind that SA tests with two persons onboard. :)

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
