Just saw this section and could not help but put up a few drawings of my house we recently began construction upon. I saw a few threads and realised a lot of people are into architecture so this may interest you or may not because I beleive people have different design ideas / tastes.

A bit of background on the project :

1. Architech : Mr.Aniket Bhagwat (who did this hotel in India called devigarh and is currently doing projects beyonds words can describe. His father also happens to be the president of Landscape architects)

2. Interior Designer : Mrs. Samira Rathod (The sweetest person in the world and again excellent design skills)

3. Clients : Me! A maniac for design but of that kind which arises without looking at pictures / books or trying to get inspiration from someone else's work but I do love Kengo Kuma and a few others.

We started designing this something in July 2006 and only last week we came to a 100% standstill on the final design but a few details including staircase etc are still to be done but we are working on it. I only briefed the Architect one thing,"this must be a long laid & unusual" and then he did a few sketches all of which were stunning but we picked this one to detail as I believe something about it put me in a greater joy then the rest..

Do comment on these drawings and you may criticize it but please be a little soft as it's a dream thing i'm doing and god willing everything will work out the way it should :)

And Sorry I may not have uploaded the pics correct but if someone can help I would be thankful.

The below is like the skin or the outer layer of the house which faces the street in the centre and this is composed of the following materials as represented on the diagrams

1. Frosted Glass
2. Wood
3. Stone
4. Stainless Steel
5. Transparent Concrete (Litracon) This is something we still havent take a decision on due to costs of getting it from Eu. to India including transport costs and also Import duties etc.

Here is a graphic layout of the skeleton of the skin

Like I said the construction just began a few days back and due to rains it's at a standstill but I do hope with my fingers crossed this works well because I have gone to the worlds ends to do this and it's always been a dream having a house of this kind with 2 glass bridges connecting the private and public areas of the house and my Ferrari parked in the centre of the house :)

The nice cars etc will come later but now the priority is the interiors of this house and also the home theatre where some options I am thinking of are B&O BeoLab 5 (due to it's looks) or Dynaudio Evidence temptation in the front with in walls at the back with a Plinius / Mcintosh / Mark Levinson Amp but again these decisions will take them with what goes best with my final interior layout.

Guys do comment and i'm sure some of you can maybe help improve / enhance a few details and i'll also keep you update with the progress and if there are more changes as the site keeps going ahead thats if any one is interested lol :)

Just amazing! :icondrool
Beautful house! :icondrool
I hope you enjoy it with good health and have many happy moments in it without any problems :usa7uh:
Do you have any idea when the house will be fully built? When ever it is please make sure you take pictures :D

Thanks for the comments lol looks like no one else really is involved into architecture / design to comment on this? :(

Anyways Mercman ; Rob the construction began last sunday and the excavation work is complete but due to extremely heavy rains everything is underwater so godwilling things should be clear in 3-4 days and then we can do the base which will be concrete.

The entire house besides the base only consists of Glass / Steel slabs / Litracon* / wood louvers and we will define the lighting by the season and also one interesting development that has happened today is we might be looking at the staircase as a mueseum deco that works for the house while I do not have the drawings for that as yet i'll give you a little hint using paint hopefully I get my point across or else you might just need to wait a while for the final drawings...

And the target to complete this is March 2008 which is a little too ambitious, pretty much like a lot of components in this house but if everything goes well then it should be done sometime close to that and in the way we want it to happen.

P.S Do comment on anything negative / suggestions you may have and also if someone wants to see the cad files let me know.

Also below are the websites of the Interior Designer (Samira Rathod you can even search the name in google she is quite a legend ; And also the architect Aniket Bhagwat who is another gem for what he does but his website is not well updated with recent works but still you get an idea and i'll try get more work of his posted if possible)

Looks very interesting. Can't wait to see real life photos.
Do you have photos of other stuff that architect had done? I'd like to see it...

I will try keep this thread updated with work in progress photos but lol looks like not many are into this just 3 people yet lol :)

And you may see this website for some of his works. Basically like I said earlier his firm takes large projects which include city planning / restoring a large ara of natural reserve etc but is a gem of a person and design skills go into minute details where I see few people at that level of detailing(the site is not very well updated but ill ask him for photos)

This is going to be one hell of a house. To bad I don't understand the blue prints

Dont worry Luwalira the construction got into the 6th gear from today and maybe in about 3 months I will be able to show you the raw house :)

This is getting exciting esp. the structure as we plan to now let all the doors have a sheet of Steel clad onto it on the exterior side which will allow the weather to act upon it and let it rust creating it's own element of art with time :)

Thanks for sharing your detailed plans. I agree, it's very exciting to see one's own house being built, me and my dad are checking the site every now and then to see how's progress! :D
