Uprated Evo IX makes maddest Lancer yet

UK-based tuner Turbo Dynamics is working on the wildest incarnation yet of Mitsubishi’s rally-bred Lancer Evolution series. Using the new Evo IX’s variable valve-timed 2.0-litre unit as a basis, TD boss Peter Marsh has designed a new turbocharger that boosts power from the standard FQ-300’s 300bhp to a massive 450bhp – 50bhp more than the limited edition Evo VIII MR FQ-400.

Orders are already being taken for the turbo upgrade, which is expected to cost around £2300 when it becomes available later in the summer. That price includes a cast magnesium compressor housing and the revised turbocharger with four-inch inlet, enlarged compressor wheel, ball bearing conversion, cut back turbine blades and an uprated actuator.

That is an upgrade that is well worth the money, i wouldnt get it any other way! Thats awesome, the car is rediculous as is, now............. watch out!:t-hair:

You got to love the EVO, great control, great performance, great fun, and great modification potential. With a reasonable price. :usa7uh:

That's hardly anything. The Norris Designs EVO IX SWB rips that car. 841HP with only 1050kg.

Talk about sick!

Looks great, though:

If it just was all in black, this green color is horrible!

:t-cheers:

I didnt know there was a EVO coupe, must be a great performer. and this is just crazy i`ve seen a Norris Design EVO a year ago i think and it had 800+HP and beileve me that looked amazing, somehow the coupe looks wierd to me or maybe its that green color lol. But great car :D

Thanks Top Secret.

The Norris is basically a race car vs. this kit meant for normal street driven Evos. A GT42R is a pretty damn big turbo to have on there. You may make good peak power, but the lag would kill. The whole car is gutted. The power figure is on race gas and 118 octane no less (way high). It makes over 200 lb. ft. less torque than horsepower it claims as well. A Toyota Supra could make like 1200+ horsepower with a gigantic turbo, but how would it actually be on the street? Raw numbers can be decieving is all I'm trying to say.
