Hi all,
As many members of this forum may already know, i work as a consultant to the automotive industry through a big 4 consulting firm. My background is in accounting and i am a qualified CA (Chartered Accountant).
Over the years, i've built a very strong repuation within the market place. I'm known for my world-class technical skills, my pragmatic approach in problem resolution, and being able to deliver outstanding client service. Many managers and senior managers within car companies turn to my expertise in helping them derive favourable outcomes in difficult environemnts and unlocking value from seamingly challenging situations.
In early December of last year, i received an unsolicited call from a recruitment agency enquiring if i was interested in joining the "other side" and work for an actual manufacturer in a senior managerial capacity. I explored this opportunity by undergoing psychometric tests and having interviews with managers across various fields within the organisation. Earlier this week i had an interview with the Managing Director.
This morning i signed the new contract and tendered my resignation to my firm. It was a very emotional day breaking the news to the Partners and my fellow colleagues within my cluster - i've formed a very close bond with them over the years.
From early March i'll be commencing my new role at the manufacturer as a senior manager in the company's logistics and distribution division. My role involves managing the distribution of vehicles from the manufacturing sites to the various international sales subsidiaries and importers. It's a very high-profile role because i'll be taking direct responsibility for the thousands of vehicles worth millions of Euros that are in transit every day. I'm also responsible for co-ordinating the balance between supply (driven by the factories) and demand (which are driven by the sales subsidiaries).
I'm really looking-forward to this new role and am very excited!
PS. as part of my salary package, i get to choose between a large luxury car or a mid-size luxury SUV.
