Turbo died can I still floor it?

Hi everyone good evening!

So I'm driving a 2006 BMW E90 320d with 153 horses. Have it for years now just hit the 350.000km mark.
Anyway, the turbo died while flooring it at high speeds.
I brought it to the mechanic and he said it should be safe to drive as it simply stopped turning.
I will get it fixed when I have time but in the meantime how should I drive it?

I have to drive about 600km a day so it gets used a lot. It drives like a truck under 3000rpm. However going above 3000 and around 3500 it starts to pull really well.

First question. How is this possible? At high rpm it feels almost like the turbo is still working. It's only extremely noticable below 3500rpm. Going to 4000rpm the smoke coming out of the exhaust is probably responsible for 50% of the world's polution but besides that it feels surprisingly okay. (Just a weird whailing, wind-like sound coming from what I thought is the turbo, the sound started right before it died)

Second question. Is it safe to floor it still at 3500rpm to 4500rpm? The engine is just working as usual just without turbo so in theory this should be fine? No further issues nor check engline light btw.

Thank you!
Have a great evening!

Small addition (I don't see a post edit option sorry)
Car seems to have a sudden increase of like 70 horsepower at 3000 rpm. How..
