1M Tuningwerk Winds BMW 1M Coupe RS up Past 500-Horsepower

The BMW 1 Series M Coupé (often referred to as the "1M") is the high-performance model of the E82 coupe range, sold under the BMW M performance sub-brand. While BMW naming convention would have called the car the "M1", an alternate name was chosen to avoid confusion with the BMW M1 supercar from the 1970's.

Modifying a high-performance model like the BMW 1M Coupe is no easy task but it's one that Germany's Tuningwerk is more than happy to accept. What you see here is the result of Tuningwerk's efforts to create a street-legal track racer out of the M brand's entry-level model and which it calls the 1M RS.
At the heart of the car lies a heavily tuned version of the 1M's 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six, which is loaded with 335-horses and 450Nm (332 lb-ft of torque) out of the factory.
After Tuningwerk completes the upgrades that include among other things, an ECU remap, modified turbochargers and cooling system, and a custom exhaust system, output is boosted to 514HP (521PS) and peak torque to 614Nm (453 lb-ft) from 2,800 rpm. The German tuner says that 1M RS can reach a top speed of 300km/h (186mph).
Tuningwerk also made changes to the transmission and added a racing clutch, while the car sports a stiffer suspension and a new breaking system with 370 mm discs with carbon fiber discs being offered as an option.
The 1M RS is also lighter than its stock counterpart as the German tuning house has replaced several body panels such as the hood and boot lid with carbon fiber items. The GT4 front lip spoiler, rear wing and the Recaro bucket seats are also made from the same lightweight material.
The BMW coupe model now rides on forged ATS superlight 19-inch rims wrapped in Dunlop Sport Maxx high-performance tires size 245/35R19 on the front and 285/30R19 on the rear axle.
Upon customer request, Tuningwerk offers several more options including a roll cage, though in this case, the rear seat bench is discarded. Pricing including the cost of the car starts from €119,000 (US$156,500).

Best tuned BMW ever ? :)
I usually vomit when I see tuned cars but in this case it's done totally right!
521PS and lighter than a standard 1M... Carbon fiber parts and great exterior looks, almost like a 1M GTS... Amazing car!

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
