'Top Gear' slammed for drink driving

Smash-hit car show Top Gear has been panned after two hosts were filmed drinking gin and tonic during a race to the North Pole.

Presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May were filming for the show's Polar Special last year when the footage was taken.

The pair were racing against fellow host Richard Hammond, who was travelling to the North Pole using a sled and dogs.

In findings released today, the BBC Trust's complaints committee said it wasn't "editorially justified" to show the pair drinking while driving.

In one shot, May asked Clarkson to "slow down while I cut the lemon".

Producers of the show rubbished the complaints, saying both hosts remained in control and showed no signs of being drunk.

The hosts were also filming in an uninhabitable area and were in international waters, they said.

Although the episode was a hit with audiences — attracting 4.5 million viewers — the BBC Trust agreed with complaints that there had been a "misuse of alcohol".

Honestly some people really do need to get a life, or have it taken away from them. I cannot believe someone out there actually complained about Clarkson and May's little drink inside their Toyota Hulix while driving on the North Pole.

Some people actually felt the need to complain about that, I cam imagine their reaction would be something like "OMGGGGGGGGG these people are drinking alcohol while driving in the North Pole, they could have crash their car into nothing and kill nobody !!!! we must hurry and make a serious complain about their irresponsible behaviour"

I will like to meet these people who complained about that Top Gear special, and I shall re-educate them in the way that will make Tycoon proud.

indeed, have they actually seen the episode? May just says, it's legal to drink and drive on the north pole, so they do it. It was freagin' hilarious for god's sake, and it's not gonna make me drink and drive.

I for one, am going to watch that episode again, right now, so screw you health and safety man.
