See this is what I don't understand. Some BMW drivers spend half of their lives boasting about how their car can turn a corner fast, how wonderful they are on the track and do their best to compare their cars to real sports cars....Yet when we are in the real world they poke around, try not to make lights, slam on brakes, watch the sidewalks to see if anyone is looking at them....and the list goes on.

Mean while I'm driving behind them, I scream at them saying "Hold up, I though you were the ultimate driving machine". Then I drive around them as fast as I can and look back and say "Thats what I thought". Thats when they get angry.

Now I've seen a S550 Benz on the other hand doing 110mph going down I-95 and the entire highway cleared a path. SUVs, Mac Trucks, Buses and even I moved to the side..everyone knew that S-class meant business. They were shocked that an S-class was doing what BMW claims to do.

So Mercedes might get tickets, but they earn their respect on the road.

If to earn your respect one needs to be speeding, then I feel very sorry for you. If you get a hard-on driving like a jerk and shouting at BMW drivers, then I feel all the more sorry for you.

If someones shouts at me because of the brand of my car, overtakes me and then seems happy of himself, I won't get mad, I just will think some people really should grow up...

Ther road is not a dick-contest, you know. That's why kids aren't allowed to drive.

The general assumption even here in S.A. is that BMW drivers are real dicks. Fact of the matter is that irrespective of the brand one drives it is the nut behind the steering wheel who is to blame for they way he/she drives

As a BMW driver I suffer from road rage, NOT because I drive a BMW but because of other road users.

The stigma that attached itself to BMW drivers is merely born out of jealousy from those who can't afford BMW's OR made the wrong choice in the brand they drive

Completely off track! In this forum, you all have got to stop resorting to name calling and insults toward members.

So what I will do is suggest that you read my follow-up response (provided earlier) and respond accordingly in a positive manner. If you do not understand something, feel free to ask me for clarification. If it is off the subject, then feel free to PM me.

Me- I always drive slightly above the speedlimit but I do that with every carbrand I own.

And yes, maybe it is because a lot of teens drive this car. I use to sell the previous XB and most of the drivers that I sold it to were between 19 and 25. Still doesn't seem like the type of vehicle that would alert the cops. Now the Scion Tc, yes.
