Regional Things you didn't know about Sweden

Move to Sweden work in Norway, the best of both worlds.

Yeah that would be the best thing. But I think it would be quite a challenge to move there, if not as a student, and be allowed to work. So I guess I'd have to marry a Swedish girl. Oh, well. One has to make sacrifices :D

Nah. This is Sweden:

It takes approximately one minute from the border crossing to reach IKEA.

Here's something I didn't know about Sweden (or at least hadn't thought about): They're one of the few countries to have incorporated the European E road numbering system into their own national network rather than just posting the E road numbers in addition to their own road numbers like most countries do. The system was heavily revised in 1992 but the Swedes got to keep the numbers they previously had.

That is why the E4 runs from right about where this picture was taken (on the Finnish-Swedish border in Tornio/Haparanda) to Helsingborg in southern Sweden. For comparison, the E75, which I take daily, runs from Vardø in northern Norway to Sitia in Crete.

And if this isn't the most interesting thing you've read all day, I don't know what's wrong with you. :D
Now where's my beer...
