Research by PEUGEOT UK reveals the UK’s most romantic weekend getaways for electric drivers this Valentine’s Day, with York featuring the best combination of accessibility, public charging options and EV-friendly accommodation.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, PEUGEOT UK has found the top 10 most EV-friendly romantic getaway spots for couples to visit this February. York topped the rankings, followed by Edinburgh and then Brighton.
Using Time Out’s guide to the 15 best romantic weekend getaways in the UK, PEUGEOT compared how many locations could be reached from the country’s 15 most populous cities using the 248-mile WLTP range of the PEUGEOT e-208. PEUGEOT’s research* also considered the number of public charging points within a five-mile radius of each location and access to rapid chargers with speeds above 50kW.
PEUGEOT’s research also considered the number of accommodation options within five miles of the romantic locations that offer charging for EV drivers, such as hotel chains and B&Bs. York topped the tables, with 20 different accommodation options available to EV drivers, as well as leading the way with the highest number of sustainable accommodation options that offer charging for electric vehicles.
The Scottish capital, Edinburgh, came in second place in PEUGEOT’s findings, whilst drivers heading to Brighton this Valentine's Day can enjoy an extensive EV charging network that covers the coastal city, with the most charge points within five miles of the city centre.
The PEUGEOT e-208 has recently received a boost to its electric range to an impressive 248 miles (WLTP). The e-208 can also support up to 100kW rapid charging with an 0-80% charge taking just 30 minutes.
