It seem like the GT3 is improving for every generation. I personally think it is the perfect 911 in terms of performance, style and price. I want it more than I want a Turbo.

I'm happy that Porsche improved not only the handling but also the comfort. This is definetly a good news for posers who can't(don't want to) leave their GT3 at home regardless the distance of their journeys.

The Turbo is the most versetile sports car on the planet but is a bit different from the GT3. The Turbo is with its four wheel drive and power the ideal choice for the 40 years old CEO with a fat belly who might even have 1 or 2 kids. It is more or less the ultimate Autobahn monster.
The GT3 on the other hand is THE 911. With its light weight, high reving engine and it sport suspenion it is as a whole a proper sports car and lacks nothing.
The 997TT have received warm welcomes all over the world but some criticts have said that the car is awsome to drive but a bit unexciting to drive. While on the other hand the GT3 have been praised for its fabolous driving characteristics and road performance.
All of this is mainly due to the GT3 not having PSM or Porsche's advance four wheel drive system, which helps keep the car on the road but kills driving pleasure at the same time.

Spot on. Turbo = grand touring, GT3 = sports
The only fun to drive 996 turbos I've ever driven were modified. The stock ones are fast, but honestly sterile and boring. Don't get me wrong the turbo is an incredible car and Porsche has done an awesome job, but they now lack the excitement of older turbos in their days and the GT3/GT2 today. The turbo is a brutually fast computer controlled machine that your grandmother could drive from point a to point b without getting into trouble.
