Artura will be eaten alive by the 296.

They aren't really direct competitors. And the Mclaren 720S smashed everything Ferrari had for years until the SF90 Stradale came along and let's just forget the McLaren Senna right? It's bordering on TWENTY individual outright production lap records, maybe 2 down I've lost count. Other than the one that mattered to some granted.

All different cars with different goals.

Was it wet during acceleration also? Because I expected faster times

It's not brilliant, but it's Autocar which tests with 2 people on board so their numbers are always slow. The 0-60 time can also probably be better, so the road conditions/tire temps probably weren't optimal either. 137mph trap speed is quite good...

1552kg, though, vs Mclaren claimed 1495kg.

Sometimes full fuel tanks too which is obviously detrimental to acceleration. The figures are acceptable for now. As you stated 137MPH exit speed is high and Mclaren's claim for 21.X seconds to 300km/h seems achievable in time. It just shows perhaps the V6 isn't producing that much more power like V8's did.

"From the November 2022 issue of Car and Driver.

The definition of a status symbol for over 40 years, the Mercedes-Benz SL lost its ability to directly withdraw from the bank accounts of the wealthy in its last generation. That SL drove and performed better than any other, but after decades of elegance, the design—a nose-heavy, squared-off look—had buyers spending elsewhere.

Enter the new SL, a smooth and shapely convertible that ditches the retractable hardtop for a fabric roof. No longer a two-seater, the new SL adds a pair of small rear seats, which might not be useful for hauling humans but will hold a couple of roller bags. You'll need to store them there since the eight-cubic-foot trunk only holds one."
