Are you going to buy the new R8 then? :)

Too early to say but it will definitely save me some money. As I said I expect great design, NA V10 with at least 560HP and last but not least... less understeer than the Huracan(unfortunately not too plausible).

Idk, the current r8 is faster then the gallardo, maybe it can be faster then the huracan because of the wAy that audi gets it to put power to the ground... Quattro gives more traction then lambo's AWD... Just speculating...

Could be the case with the V10+. Never "raced" against one.
My LP560-4 was faster than the R8 V10 on the track.

Was it? Damn... But i really dont know, i think in the straight line it might be faster, but dont know on the track... Anyway, i just saw a video where the huracan pretty much accelerates faster or as fast as the aventador roadster! It looses on top speed tho... Let me find the link...

Here, now the huracan really is my favorite car, but as i dont think im gonna be able to afford one, so im dreaming to get the closest thing to the lambo, so the r8 it is!

The cars' acceleration is pretty much identical in this video.
Were both runs done under the same conditions?

That i really dont know, but hey, we're talking about $200k on msrp difference... So... Id really take the huracan...
Me also I love both cars but if given the choice by a cats ball hair I would take a Huracan, I love it's more compact looks and it's absolutely a stunning machine, beautiful car!

Some one posted a video of the new C63 from the same angle cresting the same curve. And it seemed very unsettled through it. In comparison, R8, looks so much better planted.

Intel Update: Audi R8

Over the past few weeks we’ve been noticing a number of “intel” stories covering rumors about the upcoming next-generation MSS Audi R8. Just what these rumors highlight or images that further illustrate them has varied widely, so we thought we’d post a summary.

Here goes:

Most details and the header above come from Automobile Magazine. You can find more on that story and the render done for Automobile by Rodovan Varicak in larger size via their website HERE.

Here’s a quick rundown of the car in general.

  • Will be based on same MSS architecture as Lamborghini Huracan with more of a mix of materials including carbon fiber.
  • Manual transmission will disappear.
  • V8 and V10 will be offered
  • 460-hp and 369 lb-ft 4.0 TFSI replaces 4.2 FSI high-rev V8.
Audi R8 TDI (source: AutomobileMag.com)
When Audi showed off its Nanuk quattro almost a year ago, this mid-engine off-road sportscar featured a new V10 TDI. One could say then that Audi already hinted at the diesel potential for its sports cars, but Automobile Magazine is also reporting that the project is a pet project of Dr. Ferdinand Piëch and it would either use the current 4.0 TDI or a new V10 TDI… the latter presumably similar to the engine shown in the Nanuk.

Audi R8 Spyder (source: AutomobileMag.com)Rumor is that the V10 will not be offered and that it will come after the coupe sometime in early 2016.

Audi R8 e-tron (source: AutomobileMag.com)What was off is now on again. Range has been extended to 300 miles.

Audi R8 Plug-In Hybrid (source: CarAdvice.com.au)
We’d not heard this rumor, but apparently CarAdvice.com.au had. Previous R8 e-trons have been full electric vehicles though a plug-in would suggest there be some sort of range extender engine much like the current Audi A3 e-tron with its 1.4 TFSI. Car Advice put that question to an Audi product planner and was told future R8s will be powered by fuel or complete electric as we’ve seen before.

New Test VideoFinally, there’s also a new test video of the next R8 testing at the Nurburgring. Watch it below.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
