Yup, overdone and simply not good looking.
Switch the bumpers to something normal please Mini! Because it looks good for the rest.

Really disappointed with this cars looks, after the terrible Cooper S (with its horrible bumper intake design), I really hoped this JCW version will look better but it looks just as bad with too many intakes on the bumpers (what on earth are the back bumper vents for?). Then the wheels also look too narrow and small, too much body work sticking out and also too much space between wheels and arches.

Looking at the motor specs, they had to increase power to at least match that of the Audi S1 (also 170kw/231PS), but it is slightly slower than the Audi in acceleration.

Don't agree re the looks. I like it a lot. Gives it a real point of difference. Just wished they had have bombed the crap out of the engine, could easily get 200kw from it. It needs to be performing sub 6's. I still cant understand why it is so slow. For what it weighs and with the 170kw and the torque figures, I thought it would have made the mid 5's, but no, they've knobled it somehow to keep it over the 6 seconds. Is there a tax somewhere where anything that goes 0-100ks in under 6 seconds has to pay extra tax?

Aha, that's interesting. I'm seriously going to look at one when they come out to Aust. if there is some "enhancements" readily available for the new engine, would make the decision a little easier. I've always been happy with APR & Oettinger tunes on my VAG cars. And on my last mini, the best upgrade I could manage was dropping in a 1275 in place of the 850!
