Architecture The most "uncool" homes ever

As there seems to be a thread about the coolest homes ever, thought it could be an interesting idea to make a reverse thread about the most uncool/ugliest homes out there...

I thought that, with this thread, we could prove that money cannot buy taste, and we can display expensive but tasteless residences of wealthy individuals or even politicians...Anyway, as the one starting this thread, guess I'll go first

Meet Erdogan's New Palace, known as Ak-Saray in Ankara, Turkey.

In a country like Turkey where poverty is rampant, this scumbag had the face to try and justify this enormous piece of HIDEOUSNESS as "a matter of prestige, where we can prove the strength of Turkey towards other countries with this new Presidential Palace"

Quite apart from looking like "Middle Eastern Sheiks' Opulence meets Dictator's wet dream", I cannot even stand looking at this piece of hideousness for extended periods of time. Having cost 615 million USD of Turkish taxpayers' money and sporting 1150 rooms, parts of a national park at the heart of Ankara had to be razed for this enormous yet revolting piece of architecture to be built.

A great idea, slicknick. And this first posted home is a perfect start. :)
Here is the introduction video prior to its unveiling last year, if you have the stomach to endure it

Anyway, other suggestions are most welcome guys, let the roasting begin !!!

I can post the 90% of the buildings in Bolivia, if I'm honest, as is a country dammed with terrible taste, but I'll give you some homework guys: Google "cholets" and start eye-bleeding.

So I've never taken LSD, but I think somehow I just did after googling that. I have one question...why?

(BTW, I hope I am not being culturally insensitive, but those structures are just intense)

It's difficult to answer... let me provide some background. The owners of these buildings are mostly from the aymara and quechua indigenous ethnics, so some say the strong colours are reminiscent of their culture, which seems to be true. (google aymara and quechua and you'll see the strongs colours on their clothes, flags, etc)

Others say it's a very showy, almost rebellious display of their new found status/wealth, as sadly, for centuries they were slaves or discriminated, first by the spanish conquistadors/colony, and after the independency, by the wealthy families, mainly of spanish descendent, and now, after Morales, a half breed indigenous himself, went to become the president, the situation have become much more equal and discrimination to indigenous people is fastly becoming something of the past (gladly, and just about the only good thing Morales has done, but I won't enter into politics)

My humble opinion lies somewhere in between, but I also add that, in most cases, is the result of the noveau riche wave, people who became rich overnight, and while still being very elemental in their education and/or formation (with all respect), is burning cash to show their wealth.

^I believe I have seen this house at the the german TV. A millionaire or billionaire from India who made his money in the IT sector is living there with his family. Nobody else.

I don't think there is a more cringe-worthy house than this. The paradox of it being that it is the most expensive in the world, and it is literally located right beside the largest slum in Asia.

"With a grand view of the largest slum in the world, this house can be yours for a billion USD"

Besides, who the hell, especially a billionaire that can afford just about any house, pay a billion to something that looks like an aprtment building?Imean, who would want to take an elevator just to go have breakfast in your own house?

Mukesh Amban, his wife and three children.

It only has 398,000 square feet of living space.

I'm sure there must be a few dozen domestic staff and prostitutes living there aswell.

It's not surprising he built this tower home when his family lived in a 19 story apartment block which his father bought in the 70's and converted to a single dwelling, it's what he's used to. His brother Anil still lives in the old tower but is apparently looking to build a new taller tower, the two sisters will remain in the original family tower Sea Wind.

Here's another tower house being built in Mumbai by another Indian billionaire family the Singhania's.
