TV The Mandalorian (2019 -

I have watched the series last month and I can say that it is pretty good. I have seen my friends sharing their thoughts about it on social media and I got curious.

Watched the first 5 episodes so far.

As an aside, just received an e-mail - Rise of Skywalker is out on Disney+ on May 4th!

And what's your verdict so far? (Chapter 5 was the worst IIRC).

I'm certainly not advocating anything here, in fact, I'd be against suggesting it, but VPN services like ExpressVPN allowing geo-proxying which might enable people to access Disney+ as though they were in the USA, and therefore get access to everything, not the cut down service we have in the UK....

... but I wouldn't know anything about that.

What extra is on Disney+ in the US?

Having not really explored it, I don't know, but for instance; all of the Mandalorian is, and though it's not my favourite Star Wars Resistance is too (I'm a bit of a canon junkie so...) I'd imagine there's similar examples in the MCU.

I thought about that but a decent VPN like Nord is £2.68/month, which is the same as the cost of buying two seasons over a year, plus with NOW TV, Netflix, Disney+ and Prime I now have more TV than I have time to watch anyway.

I think the Express VPN package I'm on is about £7/mo, but (usually) it's invaluable for tracking down live streams of motor racing without having to resort to malware infested 'dodgy' streaming sites, or wait days for any domestic channel to show edited highlights, or more usually, nothing at all... of course that was back in the days when motor racing actually existed.

Seems I never got around to cancelling my Disney+ subscription!

Anyway, chapter 9 was... enjoyable. Keen to see where this season goes.

The reveal at the end left me with a big grin...

looking forward to see how that materializes this Friday.

It's an interesting one. Unless he's going after the child as a bounty there's little reason for him to have a beef with Din.. and I'm skeptical Favreau or Filoni just want him as a generic bad guy. It's a baseless prediction, but I reckon they'll use him for a bit of exposition (Jango's background and the ambiguity around if the Fett's were Mandalorians), then tie him up in the plot relating to the dark saber and the appearance of Bo-Katan... ultimately offering him redemption in the eyes of Mandalore - before (maybe) killing him off...

.. but that's just my theory.

Interesting...

I think Mando will be pretty disappointed when Boba doesn't really have a Mandalorian background, and his hatred for the Jedi will surely put the two at arms length. Boba may be the key to the information Mando is looking for regarding the Jedi (He was around during the clone wars era, witnessed order 66 met with quite a few sith & Jedi on his travels...)

I do hope for a Bo-Katan & Ashoka episode later on in the season (possibly the episode Dave directs). I'm predicted Boba somehow has information on their whereabouts....

Also, love the the way Vanth's speeder was a repurposed version of Anakin's originally podracer , lovely nod to the prequels.

I didn't get the impression Din was going to continue looking for the original suit owner... but I've only watched it once, it I was pretty tired, so I could have missed that. I think Favreau is going to push the story down the line of the Fett's being Mandalorian because it's rumoured that at the start of the project he wanted the Mandalorian to be Boba Fett, and since TCW, the lore around Mandalore has made it pretty open as to what being a Mandalorian is.

That's why I think they'll go down the route of Jango exposition - Boba's strongest claim to being a Mandalorian would be if his father was, and we really know very little about Jango at this stage. I think it lends more to Boba's story arc... we have a beginning for him thanks to AOTC, we have a middle, thanks to TCW and the ESB/ROTJ, what we don't have is an end... if he's still just wanting to kill Jedi I'm not sure how that brings him on, or finishes his story - which is what I think Fav's will want to do.

Again... all just my speculation. Other than the Bo-Katan / Ahsoka casting decisions I'm not reading any leaks or such.
