Movies The Dark Knight Rises

Same here. I bought that exact same one at the special introductory price. Overall, I think the quality of the blue ray is quite good. The 64-page book it comes with is a nice touch with great photos.

It comes with a total of five blue ray discs. 3 for the movies and 2 for the special featurettes. The Dark Knight Rises has a lot of extra behind the scenes material. However, the Dark Knight special featurettes disc was a disappointment since it has only 2 featurettes. I was hoping to see more about the storyboarding and behind the scenes etc.

I am also a bit disappointed they did not include any deleted scenes. Still, overall a good buy and definitely worth the price.

I just got this. Just saw Dark Knight rises, didn't get a chance yet to watch the rest of the stuff. Awesome movie, but like I said elsewhere, wish they had left more to viewer's imagination in the end and not made it so obvious. Especially considering it is a Nolan movie, but I guess it is catering to a different crowd than Inception. I think Anne Hathaway did a good job. Tony Harding, putting a mask on him didn't do his acting any good, but kudos to him for physically being a convincing bad ass. I did not see the
Talia twist
coming.

I never noticed the mole by Bale's eye til I seen the Dark Knight again the other night. In the The Dark Knight Rises, it looks it's gotten bigger 'cause I kept looking at it for some reason, thinking it was new (or it must be the iMax experience :D ).

And I just saw the Dark Knight Rises today. I just finished watching with a friend in BlueRay, just an hour and a half ago.

My opinion:

It was a nice movie with much action. I didn't feel it lacked action, but when Batman and Bane were fighting, I felt like they were tired 50 years old, kind of bored to move around. As if they were not in a rush of adrenaline, but more of hassle.

Then comes the plot. I felt like someone didn't want the movie to have plot, just action. Then they realised that the plot was neccessary and added a few scenes, like the one with Talia's "confession". For half an hour there were only gun shots, explosion and fights going on, with no other plot progress, and then Talia comes out and talks about that jail, her father, her mother, her sister, her brother, her cousin, all her relatives and the plot accelerates like a Veyron! The plot progression was not as linear as it should. Many "decisions" the main actors took felt weird, or may I say, not well back-ed up. Like how did Cat Woman change her mind, and didn't leave Gotham and she returned to help Batman. Then how did that detective leave the others take care of the bomb, only to drive a bus full of children to the bridge. If I was him, I'd say that people will find their way out of Gotham, and I would help the others with the bomb. It would have a bigger wow effect.

Yeah, I never noticed that in Batman Begins or Dark Knight. Surprisingly, watching Dark Knight Rises in the theater, I noticed the mole was so conspicuous and kept drawing the attention of the viewer to itself that I thought it was something he got after the Dark Knight movie. Wonder why he just does not get rid of it??

Glad I'm not the only one :D.

I forget to mention the awesome 90 degree (and I think a 180) turns of the Batpod. How amazing was that? It didn't do that in the Dark Knight from what I remember.

Found it. It sorta did @1:14:

Yeah, I saw one of the featurettes where they explain how they shot the scene in the special edition of the trilogy. :)

Speaking of featurettes, there is a pretty amazing featurette showing how the planning and shooting of the aerial action between the planes was shot. All of that was shot in real life as Nolan wanted realism in that scene.

I watched both the Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises blue rays back to back and I am quite confirmed that DKR has an edge over DK in terms of being very atmospheric and the story being much more multi-layered.

Glad I'm not the only one :D.
