M3/M4 The BMW M3 CRT.

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
Magnificent! It depresses me no end that my chances of owning one are zilch.

So does it make 450HP from the 4L engine or does it use the 4.4L GTS unit?

Interesting technology used for the hood. I guess we should expect some of it to be used on newer regular BMW's as well. It's strange that they would tune the engine more than the GTS track car. Good end to the E90 M3 and I think it will be a much better buy than the GTS if it comes out to around the same price.

130 is pretty steep... thats like double what the normal M3 cost..

I wonder what the C63 BS will cost..

I don't understand where 70kg lighter comes from.

It's only 45kg lighter than a M DCT equipped E90 M3 to EU1 standard.

It is 45 kg lighter than standard M3 Sedan. But if on the standard M3 Sedan you add all the options (Navi Pro, High-End-Soundsystem Individual) waht is stars on the M3 CRT, than it is 70 kg lighter.

I just can't understand the logic behind putting a high-end sound system and professional navigation in a car where you've just thrown out the heavy comfort seats.

Magnificent! It depresses me no end that my chances of owning one are zilch.

You gits drive on the wrong side of the road, right? Pick up a used E90 M3, manual and with about no extras, in the UK. They cost close to nothing, and build your own! :D
I think EVO had the same recommendation regarding the GTS in their first review...

I really don't want to pick holes but BMW just make it so easy. Why include the high end stereo when the car is showcasing weight saving technology? It's a 2.6% weight saving over the standard sedan, yet it costs twice the amount? A bit of extra power, fair enough, but 130,000 Euros!!?

Please can somebody explain what there is to get excited about here?

Anybody could achieve these weight savings by stripping the interior and fitting BMW Performance seats, and fitting an Akrapovic exhaust, and save tens of thousands!!

^Yes sir..the price is beyond insane..you can buy 2 M3´s almost..:D It aint that special

Tell that to all of them who bought the GTS. You like BMW, you want something exclusive and unique and something faster. Pretty simple but it works. Only 67 will be built for obvious reasons.

I understand where you are coming from, but BMW aren't the only ones that follow the same superficial diet routine and then hike up the price.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
