Lol, I knew somebody was going to say thatThe last ones a nice looking building, but such a shame it''s got a dimwits name over the front door. It wouldn't surprise me if this is the only library George has ever been in.
Beautiful building, do you have some exterior pictures @dr. Dunkel?
It is in an Italian Renaissance style. I have always loved the stripes in different coloured (polychrome) stone from Byzantine buildings ("borrowed" from Islamic architecture)
You have fine taste T&T, I have seen this house before, it really is a beautiful estate. One of my favorite homes in the United States is the Crespi-Hicks estate, nestled within the Mayflower Estates part of the Preston Hollow enclave of Dallas. Featured in magazines such as Architectural Digest and Private Air, the former most expensive home in America is situated upon a secluded twenty-five acres of creeks, ponds, forests. After a multi-million dollar restoration that lasted a decade the Crespi-Hicks estate again exudes its former beauty and remains one, if not the, grandest estates of its time.
Read about the history and restoration of the estate here.
Here is a well-written article about the estate, as well as hundreds of more pictures (like I haven't posted enough already.)

Ha ha, I've never been to Texas. I saw it on the net a while ago, it was for sale. Has it been sold yet? I remember it was extremely expensive.Thank you. Do you mean in person or in media?

@Mick Briesgau , same here. Still one of my favorites.
@SDNR , THANKS! Very informative, I'm googleing images of the works of all the architechs you mentioned.
Now guys, I'm going to hijack this thread for some help. My fridge is getting rusty (the humidity on my city is too damm high) and I would like to change it. Now I'm torn, should I get a stainless steel one, as my small appliances, oven, rangehood, stoven top, etc are all in stainless...or would you choose a colourful one, like those by Smeg/Haier?
Here two pics of my kitchen, and also the Haier fridge which I'm looking:

It's available in all stainless steel, and red, orange, black and bordeaux-wine lacquer. While the stainless goes with the rest of theme, somehow is lost in the white walls and light wood furniture, so a red or black will add some life to my kitchen.
What do you think?
Stainless has been "in" for so long it has become boring.
If you can stand it, get the red refrigerator!
Thanks T&T. I think I'll get the burgundy one, will make an even nicer contrast against my furniture. What do you think?
@Gianclaudio I'd take the Burgundy one@Mick Briesgau , same here. Still one of my favorites.

I'd take the Burgundy oneOne strong colour in your kitchen adds to it's liveability. Besides, stainless steel has one disadvantage: you see every fingerprint on it.
The silver one! Your kitchen is in pastel colors, the red refrigerator would be a little ridiculous. The silver fits the best.
Lol, good point. The silver one! Your kitchen is in pastel colors, the red refrigerator would be a little ridiculous. The silver fits the best.

However, if you like burgundy Gianclaudio, then I think it would work well to.
I'm not the person to ask about this ...... I think my tastes can be a little bit 'extreme' at times
