V-Class/Vito The all-new electric Mercedes-Benz VLE

The Mercedes-Benz Vito/V-Class/Viano/EQV is a mid-sized light commercial vehicle (LCV) produced by Mercedes-Benz, available as a panel van, chassis cab, or multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), carrying cargo or up to eight passengers. In the Mercedes-Benz van lineup, it is positioned between the larger Sprinter and the smaller Citan.
It's shocking how cluttered the AMG trim front-end end. The classy trim would be fab for the GLC EV

Thoughts:

Metal surfacing: Nice for the type off vehicle that the VLE is. Save the eyesore open door rail. But, for the type of vehicle that it is, acceptable.

Selection of rims: Some very interesting ones. I'll add some really nice paint colors as well.

Interior: Must say, it appears to be high quality in fit and finish. And quite lavish.

Never a genre of vehicle that can genuinely push any buttons for me. But for those who want to lavish cash on it, well...it's their decision, their money. And...a bit tongue-in-cheek...it's a damn nice commercial vehicle.

The main target market is China where private jet style SUVs are alternatives to S-Class.

-With ambient lighting as intense as it is in the AMG-trimmed version, is it really ambient?
Right? Ambient used to mean soft, diffused lighting in your pheriperal. In this car it's in your direct line of sight, strong and clashes with instrument cluster and infotainment screens.

You excused Elon Musk on the basis that your Model X hadn't yet caught fire or crashed, and praised him on the basis that your Model X could beat anything else between traffic lights.... and now... excuses for Minivans because you don't really need performance in a family car.

Just.. peak hypocrisy.. every single level. Musk sycophants man... zero recall.
No , it's not hypocrisy . I stand by my words. Maybe I said the wrong word for this car.

As a non-native-english-speaker , I , as many others , lack to find the perfect word in a conversation.

Viano for us was a family trip car. It was used when we where traveling in the country and outside , with massive amounts of luggage .

And you don't need massive amounts of power for this king of car , because a car of that size , you would tip over in the first corner at high speed or different maneuver .

I think this is the right word for what I meant : Family TRIP car.

Sorry if you did not understand what I meant. I should have used this one in the first place , but given the fact that we were speaking about VANS , it was obvious , I guess.

I did not daily drive that Viano because it was massive and impractical as a daily commuter .

But the Model X is a family car, for daily driving and commuting

Hope I made myself clear.

If not , have a good day

Yes the black plastic being eliminated and new steering wheel are long overdue.

I was surprised they still added those black plastic door panel trims when this cars interior is designed at the same time as the cheaper CLA and GLC which both have wood in this door trim. Otherwise I think the interior looks fantastic for a people carrier and probably is one of the best looking in this segment.

The only weakness I can see is the low output of the power trains. I think they should have used the same motors as the GLC with the 300 producing 422PS and the 400 producing 489PS. The VLE250 I think will be a slow seller as it will be too slow and weak with low EV range. If 224PS same power as the CLA200 then it will do about 10.5 to 11sec 0-100kmh.

They have also released the prelim prices and they seem pretty steep for the VLE400 at 94K Euros.

Yes those lower power models would never make it here. I truly think the VLE 400 should be the entry point here, but oh well. Yes the black plastic lives. I wonder if the Manufaktur catalog will be opened up for the VLE? It would be stunning in various interior and exterior colors like the S and G. Surprisingly there aren't many warts on this product. It's a job well done. We'll see if the GLE and GLS come out as good. I pretty much know the C EV won't lol.

How many people considered this option in the 7 Series? I don't think anyone cares. But luxury van customers like watching things on screens. That's where space comes into play. Nobody looks for that in sedans. The discussion should end here.

odd because every I7 I've ever been in has had the rear TV.

I imagine that the C-Class EQ EV sedan could very well be dead in the water in the U.S. market. Unless...just maybe...CKD's are shipped to Tuscaloosa under the premise that logistical snags are resolved and prices are attractive to consumers.

But yes...the C-Class EQ EV will primarily be a crucial "EU/UK/Norwegian" market vehicle.

What does 489 hp mean to you in a car of this class?

The good thing about electric powertrains is that they can just swap in more powerful motors a lot more easily than with ICE. Heck it might not even need new motors, just a software tweak.

But for a thing like this, range is probably more important, so less power is needed. Less power, but perhaps more torque.

The problem is the weight.

You can normally only load 300kg in that car. That’s ridiculous for a van.
