It's reminds me of a BMW 5 GT, let's hope it will look better with the cladding and disguise off

This is one car I would really like to see fail, it's just about the stupidest design I can think of for an SUV, doesn't Musk know anyone who owns and SUV, he doesn't appear to have any idea of what many people use there SUV's for. You can't tow anything, you can stick, bikes, canoes, windsurfers, skibox on the roof and you wouldn't want to do even mild offroading for fear of puncturing the battery pack.

As Rolf indicated it's like an electric 5GT but without the practicality of the 5GT.

That render makes it look more like a hatch than a SUV.

Well now, if it isn’t the Tesla Model X we’ve been waiting for a nudge over 3 years now. Remember that February 9, 2012 is the day Tesla Motors unveiled the first ever Model X concept and production was scheduled for “the end of 2013.” Wishful thinking...

Numerous delays (and customer deposits) later, Elon Musk and his EV-making gold mine told the company’s shareholders and Model X customers alike that the electric full-size crossover will enter production as soon as the “third quarter of 2015,” making the utility vehicle a 2017 model year car.

As you can see for yourself in the photo gallery below, the latest spy shots courtesy of Moriah Mahoney on Instagram and John Donnely on Twitter depict a white-painted Tesla Model X which is curiously mild camouflaged. Neat, huh? However, the purpoted 691 HP / 687 lb-ft (931 Nm) powertrain of the Model X 85 kWh Performance is even more impressive. Just Imagine the 0 to 60 stint this baby is capable of!

It’s not that concept from CES, but a production-ready X casually driving on Interstate 280 in Palo Alto, California, near the Tesla Motors HQ. The Tesla Fremont factory will manufacture the long-awaited X in 60 kWh, 85 kWh and 85 kWh Performance flavors. Besides the D-ified Model S underpinnings and Falcon Wing Doors, what else should you be looking forward to ’til debut?

According to the rumor mill’s spews and more or less official reports, expect the 2017 Tesla Model X to weight about 10 percent more than a Model S with similar powertrain specifications. To boot, the all-wheel drive-enhanced electric CUV is reportedly going to share some 60 percent of its bits with the D-spec Model S. "Early 2016" is the "delivery estimate for new reservations,” since you asked.

I sat in the concept at an autoshow and for an SUV type vehicle it was actually very roomy than a typical US SUV, space is impressive and to clear your worries so is versatility. You will still be able to carry a lot items in the car. For its shape it is till a tall vehicle.

To have a dual motor all-wheel drive system
Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk has announced deliveries of the 2016 Model X will commence in 3-4 months.

After numerous delays, Tesla is just about ready to start shipping the Model X to patiently waiting customers who will finally be getting a production version of the concept that originally debuted back in February 2012. Speaking at the company's annual shareholders meeting yesterday, company CEO Elon Musk said "the Model X will be a better SUV than the Model S is a sedan."

Due to hit dealerships in the third quarter of the year, the all-electric SUV will feature gullwing doors and is going to be powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system taken from the Model S P85D where it generates a massive 691 bhp (515 kW) and 687 lb-ft (930 Nm) of torque.

There's no word about performances right now but due to its higher weight it will be slower than the P85D which hits 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.2 seconds before topping out at 155 mph (250 km/h).

As a final note, it should be mentioned the Model X won't have any direct rivals for quite some time as Audi's Q6 is due in 2018 while the rumored BMW i-badged SUV is expected after the end of the decade.

Can I fit a canoe or mountain bike inside, I think the answer is no.

It's the Bruce Jenner of SUV's, it might pretend to be one but it never function like one.

Customer for luxury SUV probably don't put their canoe or a mountain bike inside their expensive car.

I know that, Scott was saying you could stick a lot of stuff inside, I was being sarcastic, besides it will be difficult putting stuff on the roof of the X because of the stupid doors, and you can't tow with an X.

No, you're not being sarcastic, you're just being KiwiRob and talking nonsense. Even on a suv nation like mine, the vast majority of owners don't tow anything nor put anything on the roof. I've only seem once a crossover carrying bikes on the roof, and it was a GLA, a car whose roof is barely higher than a hatchback like mine. Same with boxes. Suv are too damn high to be practical and carry stuff on their roofs.

Lastly, if you think the car doesn't suit you, great, you made your point more than once and ad nauseam, so please move on and stop spreading your ill hate and contaminating this thread
