Interesting results that paint a different picture on how quick the RS5 is compared it's main rivals.

I wonder which one is the right one?

From a swedish carmag. If I recall correct they dont even use the same driver every year. Times done different years, not a very consistent list. You can only compare cars driven from the same year to get a fair result as possible. Also they are working with Danish journalists.

On a sidenote, this is the track I did a part of my driver license. Also, I was there last year on Ferrari meeting.

I just noticed an error on the list. The time for M3 1.15,6 min wasn't done with M3 E92. It was the convertible (E93).



*fastestlaps, get your facts right please.


TV wanted E92 but they also wanted a M3 with DKG gearbox but unfortunaly, the only swedish presscar they had is a white M3 Convertible DKG.

Why did everyone assume I was referring to the M3 in my post? It's as if the entire BMW fanclub had a shit attack at the thought I was suggesting the RS5 was quicker than the M3.

I was showing that in this test the RS5 was comprehensively quicker than the C63, a car which in every other test track where the two cars have been tested they post very similar times, but here the gap between them is remarkable.

I can only speak for myself, but in this post (on m3post), you clearly were referring to the M3:

Why do you assume that? Is it because it goes against all the other tests conducted so far.

You would reckon that this track would suit the M3 well according to the tests we have read so far. It has the tight corners to benefit it's perfectly balanced chassis and a long straight to benefit it's superior acceleration. Very odd for such a conflicting result, unless the rest are wrong.

Seriously, why all the indignation at some one pointing out the simple fact that, that was E93 M3 and not E92? You are really letting this RS5 vs M3 thing take a mental toll on you.

We all make mistakes, and believe me, admitting one doesn't hurt.

I wasn't assuming anything. It was in my second post in this thread I mentioned the M3 since I spotted an error.


PS dont worry Im sure there will be a test in the future with a faster Rs5 than a M3. You just need to keep your head cool and wait for the moment .

RS5 is a very sweet car. I see S5 every so often and they look great. I could imagine how much better the RS5 looks.
