Hard-driving, but soft when you need it.

While Mercedes-Benz has always emphasized luxury and technology in its sedans, the former C-Class was a little left-behind on performance, compared to its longtime German rival, BMW 3-Series. But with the current C-Class, Mercedes-Benz has added more of a sporty personality to the compact sedan. The strategy shows in skyrocketing sales; the C-Class has been the best-selling vehicle in Mercedes-Benz'sU.S. lineup in recent years and has outsold the previous-generation car by 65 percent, according to the company.

With its next C-Class, all-new for 2008, Mercedes is encroaching even further into the performance realm. Mercedes is introducing the '08 with a simplified lineup - there are only two trims, Luxury and Sport, and they can be distinguished from afar, from the front especially, due to their very different front-end treatments. The Luxury follows the tradition of the C-Class and other Mercedes sedans, with the familiar chrome grille and three-pointed star hood ornament. The Sport takes a new tack, with no hood ornament but rather a body-color, straked grille and large emblem in the middle of the grille.

I was just reading this and gonna post, but it has already been done.

Yes that first picture really does flatter the car a great deal. It almost looks somehow different from all the other pics of the car so far.

From the pictures I love the interior. It has so much old school Benz in its execution. Will have to wait to see it in person to ascertain if all the whining is justified. :eusa_thin

Here's the pic i took on our mini AS in my town not so long ago:

I've sat in it, touched every single part of it and i'll say: just like the E90. Improvement yes, but nothing special and i was definitely expecting much more from MB on that subject.

In this article they are pegging the C300 Sport at $30,750, that sounds low to me. I just ordered mine this week but if the pricing comes in that low I may need to see about switching to the C350 even though I would have to give up my production slot and wait a little longer.

Pricing must be getting close.
