The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3.

BMW’s current generation of X3 mid-size SUV doesn’t have any major flaws, yet for some reason it will get the earliest facelift we’ve ever seen from the Bavarians. The reason for this is likely to keep up with Audi’s Q5 and the Mercedes GLK, both of which also received cosmetic makeovers this year.

The second generation X3 was revealed in 2010 as a 2011 model year car. Production was shifted from Austria to the US factory of Spartanburg, South Carolina. The model grew in size and almost became the size of the first X5.

The facelift F25 model has been spotted for the first time by our spy photographers while undergoing road testing. The changes are focused on the front and back, but despite the camouflage, we don’t expect completely new bumpers.

Really? This SUV is one of the best looking ones currently. I see no reason to give it the cosmetic changes so soon.

meh, I dont know. It looks better than its predecessor but the X3 is still the poorest X sibling as far as design goes. Even the X1 looks better.

Definitely not the case. I saw hundreds of both X1 and X3 and X1 is nowhere close to X3 in terms of design. Especially a white X3 with M pack i saw some days ago with some nice 19" wheels. Maaaan, i want one! :D

But it's too small for me...:D

The only updates it needs are led blinkers and brakes, and most important, the new black panel controls, not the old ones of E8X/9X.

I imagine it will share design elements of both the X5 and 3 series. I'm glad this is happening now because its still one car that is on the short list along with the next X5 and I'd hate to just get an X3 only to have it face lifted a few months later.

I'm guessing its minor tweaks else where like what Audi did with the Q5.

The headlights were one area I felt needed addressing and I'm glad that's exactly what they're doing.
