Very alike the concept. It has an odd hatchback/SUV/MPV shape like the iPace. This won't matter as long as it's priced well and has a great range.

That is not the ID.4. It could be called ID.4 coupe or something like that but there have been prototypes of what will be the ID.4 (also shown by Volkswagen themselves) which have a traditional SUV shape.

Provided that we'll see a relatively timely post-COVID-19 economic recovery (BIG question mark) and generous e-mobility incentives are offered, the I.D. 4 + derivatives should be a mega-seller for VAG.

Looking at it, I thought that this is a future Opel product for some reason. Maybe it's the headlights...

Why did they camo it with a faux tiger grille? Is that a less-than-subtle dig at Peter Schreyer and team?

Oh, and besides the airy greenhouse, the overall shape is unremarkable.

"Easily digestible" styling, I'd say. Suitable for the target market. Modern without being "too techy", moderate in a way that it transcends segment as well as demographic boundaries. Perhaps a good thing in a somewhat stressed and financially stretched post-COVID-19 marketplace.

That doesnt even look like a VW, it could be a Skoda, Subaru or Opel. WTF. It will probably be a top seller nonetheless.

This is a raised car or a lowered SUV ........ or something like the Audi allroad or what is ....

The ID3 has still not reached customers yet.
I know someone who has one in order that was delayed by the factory for software issues and then Covid-19 struck but no firm date for delivery still to be recognised.

As far as I know VW is producing them, although the software is not ready in order to be able to reach the necessary number for decreasing their CO2 footprint. Then when the software is ready they will upload it to the cars and deliver a huge number of ID3 to the customers at once.

Can you explain what the software of a zero emission EV has do with the fleet average?
...[/QUOTE]
The car is not ready. If VAG starts the production when the car is completely ready they can not produce the necessary units in order to reach their CO2 goals. It's a similar situation to the one with Boeing, where the US airplane manufacturer was producing the 737 MAX, despite its airworthiness was taken away.
