Yesterday we presented you with spy photos of the 2014 Subaru WRX. Today, it's time for another potential competitor to the S3, M135i and A45 AMG trio, that's coming from the same country as well. The Golf R will not be easy to distinguish from a regular GTI. Only the front bumper will be slightly different, as the placement of the camouflage suggest. Other than that, one could notice that the exhausts are now four and the disk brakes significantly bigger.

Very few information are available at this moment, but we are sure that it will offer a horsepower output north of the 300 mark, coupled with VW's AWD system, the 4-Matic, continuing its predecessors' tradition. It will be the most powerful Golf to come out of Wolfsburg, so this segment will be very, very interesting in the near future.

What´s the story with creating a new post for an existing topic when there´s a new entry on the main page? I understand the site aim to become an alternative to other car blogs, but I find useless to duplicate the topics.

Threads with an "article" prefix are automatically generated each time a new frontpage article is created. Sure, it's not the most convenient way, but there's no way around it so far.

This generation Golf is really plain looking isn't it. Even the sport variants are extremely understated
