[Spy Shots] New Lotus Type 133 luxury saloon ramps up for 2023 reveal

Looks decent in single tone. I wonder if Lotus historians ever thought that they would be producing cars in China rather than Norfolk in the U.K.?

Well Ettore Bugatti was Italian. His cars are made in France (now). His son Jean was German. The Boss of the company is now Croation. So there's plenty more to ponder and wonder about.

The Historians should Thank Geely because without them it's likely what Lotus would be. History.

What should a 4 door Lotus look like?

This flop when the 5 simultaneous concepts were presented and went up in smoke could have been.... more in the Tesla S wave, seeing these two plus the one that was presented today it is seen that they started from scratch without a clear direction

2015 Lotus Eterne (Names starting with E have been around forever.)

What should a 4 door Lotus look like? The don't have a 911 which they can take styling from and add it too everything they make.
I don't know, I'm not a designer.

But I'm sure they could take some cues from the Elise and make something with four doors that is recognizable as a Lotus, the same way Porsche did with the Cayenne and the Panamera.

Are you sure the top isn't the Lagonda?

It's a Lotus.

It's a Lotus.
I was just going to post the same article.
It seems that it was only quite "similar" to the Lagonda and it also seemed that way to me when I saw it, a common shape at that time when everyone was aiming for American taste and lines.

Interesting that the project was serious and was stopped due to the premature and surprising death of Chapman, I didn't know

Apparently the Lotus Emeya R at a Chinese circuit has finished around 1.5 seconds circa off the time of a McLaren P1.

Early news. But we await final videos etc.

Zhejiang Circuit.

This is a superb car, one of my favorite new electric super saloons.

What a fantastic interior, I love the seats and the alcantara wheel and dash design. The graphics on the central screen are so lifelike and insane!!

It's not bad considering it's their first saloon AND an EV!

For this car to succeed, Lotus need to expand their dealer network and raise awareness of the car. Unless you have been an Elise or Exige fan, the brand will unlikely have ever been on top of mind for you when buying a car.

This Emeya really good be the car to put Lotus on the map for electric sports saloons. Let's hope it drives like a sports car and gives the Taycan and Plaid some serious competition.

It does look fantastic especially the interior, the build quality looks excellent.

This looks absolutely stunning.

I also see where BMW got some inspiration from for the upcoming NK design language. If the next 8er GC looked like a modern version of this I'd be so happy. Just get rid of the overhang on both sides but that should be a walk in the park for an EV.

As for that electric Lotus.....hard pass. Ugly as f#ck.
