[Spy Shots] MY21 Ferrari hypercar (above 488)

A view this project from Ferrari as an answer to the Aventador and it's replacement.

Hm. But the estimated price (650k €) would somehow open up a new segment, wouldn't it? Some segment between the "old" hypercars (LaFerrari, 918, P1), which were near 1 million and the "typical" supercar in the 250k+ range ...
I personally would not expect something from Porsche in this "segment". It would be something between an GT2RS and a 918 succe...
There were rumors about a mid engine Porsche super car to sit between the GT2RS and the 918 for quite some time, I wonder of Porsche will actually make it a reality.

I have a feeling the rumored 960 is shelved as a petrol-powered supercar form. Don't know if it's either been resurrected in that form or some sort of electrified version. @tristatez28lt1 or anybody else have any insight on this?

1000 CV - V8 Hybrid ;)

I am curious to see how closely this aligns with the tenets set forth by the Mille Miglia concept that was shown a long while ago...like after the Enzo intro but before the LaFer's debut.

Doesn't look fake to me but I doubt the weight can be 200kg below the Pista. I've heard a higher curb weight.

Gotcha! 1000 HP Ferrari Hybrid Supercar Filmed Testing In Italy
BY BRAD ANDERSON | POSTED ONMAY 17, 2019

1000 hp hybrid supercar at the end of the month, and a new clip reportedly showing this new vehicle has been uploaded on Instagram.

Unlike most videos, which simply show camouflaged prototypes going about their business, this one involves a bit of chasing, too.

The description notes that they were driving a 488 Spider when they stumbled across the Ferrari prototype bathed in thick camouflage. Shortly after they managed to get up behind the prototype, the Ferrari test driver behind the wheel made them and swiftly pulled into a parking lot next to the road, trying to hide behind a row of cars.

The guys in the 488 Spider quickly realized what is going on and chased the prototype around the parking lot, all while giggling to themselves. The test driver eventually pulled back onto the road and was again followed by the 488, though he was able to lose them after indicating left but aggressively turning to the right instead.

An official invitation to the premiere of this new Ferrari model on May 31 was recently published online, confirming that the car will have 1000 CV – that’s 986 hp.

Limited details about the car’s powertrain are known at this moment, but we know it will be some kind of hybrid. There are conflicting reports about whether it will be a twin-turbocharged V6 or a twin-turbocharged V8, but either way, it should be searingly fast.

Ferrari are overdue a mid engine car between the entry level one and the flag ship. Hopefully the car will have the same presence as the Aventador.

Was perusing the Ferrari twitter account when I came across the P80C

I wonder if it's going to pull any styling elements from this one-off. I can see the front and back having some similarities.

Ferrari Hybrid Supercar's Engine Revealed?

Ferrari Hybrid Supercar's Engine Revealed?

Twin-turbo powerplant will help launch the new car to 60 mph in two seconds flat.

Officially set to be unveiled on May 31, Ferrari’s new hybrid supercar is back in the news again only a few days after that cool spy video. Today, German publication Auto, Motor, Und Sport claims it has learned which internal combustion engine Ferrari has chosen, which combined with the hybrid system will produce around 1,000 hp. Yes, that’s more powerful than Ferrari’s only other previous hybrid, the V12-powered LaFerrari. One of two twin-turbo engines will be utilized here: a V6 or V8. So, which one has been chosen?

According to the German source, it will be the same twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 found in the also new F8 Tributo.

Not surprisingly, Ferrari has refused to offer any details so it’s not possible to confirm this information right now, but the choice of the V8, which makes 710 hp in the F8 Tributo, does make complete sense. If Ferrari was aiming for 1,000 hp a powerful combustion engine would be required. Three electric motors, one built into the transmission and the second two mounted up front will provide the extra juice.

And yes, this means the supercar will be all-wheel drive and is combined with intelligent torque vectoring. The new hybrid will be slotted above the Prancing Horse’s current flagship, the 812 Superfast, which has 800 hp and 530 lb-ft of torque. Adding electrical power will enable the new Ferrari to achieve a 0-62 time of only two seconds. Two seconds!

The Italian carmaker plans to charge a hefty sum for this. Expect a starting price of at least €600,000, which is nearly $670,000 according to current exchange rates. We also don’t know whether this will be a special edition model or part of the regular lineup. As for a V6-powered Ferrari, don’t rule out that very real possibility.

As Ferrari begins making hybrids a part of its regular lineup, a less expensive model will be required and word has it a new twin-turbo V6 is actively in development. Giving it massive jolts of electricity promises great things.
