X7 [Spy shots] G67 BMW X7

The BMW X7 is a full-size luxury crossover sport utility vehicle manufactured by BMW. It is BMW's largest and second most expensive SUV in its line-up. The X7 was first announced by BMW in March 2014. It was officially unveiled on October 17, 2018, with pre-orders being taken online. The X7 has been available at dealers since March 2019.
Out of curiosity, what will happen with the size of the X7. I guess it’ll be bigger, but how much.
I think it’ll grow about 10-15 cm. Could be even 20. Happens with every new generation of cars nowadays. They just keep getting bigger and bigger.

I'm with @SKY. While it looks good and better than the previous car, it still looks like a facelift and a full generation older than the iX3.

I do like the grille on Sugardesign's render. ICE X3 style.

That would mean +10 cm front overhang and +10 cm rear overhang then, because the platform sure as hell isn't changing.

I would say 20 is max, but I highly doubt it. Probably around 10-15 cm. Don’t you think it looks much longer than the current generation? It almost looks like a f*cking bus from certain angles, lol.

Ynguldyn's updates:

-More fancy luxury options will be available compared to G07. You'll be able to order fully automatic doors (soft close will be standard if you're too poor), light carpet, ventilation and massage for rear seats, rear seat entertainment system.
-Alpina will come as a 5-seater (possibly no 3rd row even as an option), 3rd row will be optional on the 40s and standard on all others, with a choice of 6 or 7 seats.

Automatic doors on the x7 are super noisy compared with RR. BMW need to make them quieter. Even the folding mirrors on my previous bmw, g01 x3 and F20 m140i, were very loud compared with the ones on my w211 Mercedes eclass from 2006!

Does the current X7 have automatic doors? Didn’t know that.

I wonder if the 5 seater option will have more second row leg room ?

I bet the 5-seater version will be like the Russia made Executive Lounge package for the current X7.

Just to elaborate on this. On RR you cannot hear the motors when the powered door close. They are smooth and silent.

On the i7 the closing is industrial and is as loud as powered boot. See the video. When I bought my w211 Mercedes two years ago I was shocked that that when you fold or open the mirror. You cannot hear the motors.

Luxury is never about WHAT a car can do but about HOW it does it.

A grandest example of all if the "finger tip" controls in the S600. I think it was the first ever car that had powered windows, sunroof, seats and boot. Unlike today it was hydraulic powered.

You need to see it to believe how fast and smooth the windows rolls up and down without the sound of motors. I have set is video to start where that it is shown. However I recommend watching the entire video about the hudralic system. It's fascinating and gives insight into why the car was special.

Mercedes Benz still produces almost silent doors or windows. For example the sliding doors and the rear hatch of the V-Class are incredibly smooth.

On the other hand, the rear hatch of the GLS is surprisingly loud, the power operated running boards have the same issue.

Interior from the G12. A four seater super luxurious X7 was initially planned. This is probably what it would look like.
Yes, with real rear comfort seats with upper backrest adjustment - not the cheapened captain chairs in the current X7. BMW should have used the rear comfort seats from the F07 5 Series GT as they could also be folded down. The perfect world for a luxurious and practical SUV. For now, the 7-seater of the current X7 is the best.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that BMW still keeps comfort seats with upper backrest adjustment. This is the last remaining BMW element that I value. Everything else has been removed or has become worse (e.g. RSE, night vision, iDrive-controller, real leather options, buttons, column stalks, soft close, ambient lights, cost cuttings ++).
