[Spy Shots] All-new Hyundai Genesis!

They have a talent to make their interior look cheap.
The interior center console (radio and AC buttons) and gearshift lever are ripoffs of the BMW design, but the overall look of the interior is outdated by close to 10 years. The gauges look straight away like the old generation LS400 and the steering wheel design and badge stolen from a Bentley. Look at the new Mercedes C-Class interior and compare it to this car interior. This is a car from a lower class that has a much more classy, modern and attractive interior and totally outclasses this plastic Chinese look copy by generations!!

Autonomous cars are still at least a few years away from being available to consumers, but many automakers already use self-driving technology to improve vehicle safety. The 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan is one of these cars, and Hyundai just released a video showing off its new active safety systems.
To demonstrate the Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Keeping Assist on the all-new Genesis, Hyundai headed to its California proving ground with six of the new sedans and six courageous stunt drivers. The drivers set out on the test track before engaging the technologies, but then the video gets really exciting.

Five of the six drivers proceed to climb out of the sunroof and leap onto tractor trailer chase vehicle leaving these vehicles completely driverless. The remaining driver is at the head of the pack, and he puts on a blindfold and removes his hands from the steering wheel.

All six cars then follow the tractor trailer around the track keeping a safe distance from each other and also staying in their lanes around the curving roadway. Hyundai points out that in order to orchestrate this stunt, the Lane Keeping Assist system was modified to remain on at all times.

The final portion of the stunt tests the automatic braking abilities of the 2015 Genesis with the truck coming to a sudden stop and all six cars stopping safely. Hyundai did not say how fast the cars were going for this stunt, but the automatic braking system can provide full braking at speeds ranging from 5 mph up to 50 mph and partial braking up to 112 mph.

Check out the video of The Empty Convoy below, and be sure to check out the bonus video showing some of the behind-the-scenes preparation.

They have a long way to go before they can ever be considered a rival for the big 3 German luxury giants

Great looking exterior but the interior is absolutely hideous. It is like being inside a time capsule from the early 2000s.

While I kind of agree with you. I much more prefer this than the "stick an iPad and it's good to go" trend.

PS: I just realized your post is from 2013 but yeah... :D

2016 Hyundai Genesis unveiled with new features & options
Hyundai has announced a series of updates to the 2016 Genesis.

Set to go on sale in the United States in November, the updated model features additional standard equipment including HID headlights and LED daytime running lights. The entry-level Genesis 3.8 can also be ordered with newly optional LED fog lights.

Besides adding equipment, Hyundai has repositioned the Genesis 5.0 so it is only available as a fully-equipped Ultimate model. This is a tad unfortunate as it raises the price of entry from $51,500 to $53,850. However, it rewards buyers with additional equipment and a 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 420 bhp (313 kW) and 383 lb-ft (518 Nm) of torque.

^The G90 is the successor of the Equus. Genesis was only one model in the Hyundai model range, now Genesis is a sub-brand and will offer different models under the Genesis label. :)
