Remember when Nissan/ Infiniti used to be a viable alternative to BMWs? How did they get the last decade so wrong?Unironically... the new Nissan Murano interior impressed me A LOT at the LA Auto Show.

It looked very tasteful and the materials were mostly good... I found myself thinking why the German 4 can't be doing this either right now.
OBV most of the R&D money on German cars goes to the driving experience which no Nissan will ever match, but the interior of it wowed me for sure.
Anyone else feel like BMW needs to drop this 'up-tick' in the rear passenger windows? It really kills the design for me & feels busy / out of place. One straight, sharp-crisp line would do much better.

The kink that couldn't get it all the way up - the Halfmeister kink.Anyone else feel like BMW needs to drop this 'up-tick' in the rear passenger windows? It really kills the design for me & feels busy / out of place. One straight, sharp-crisp line would do much better.

Depends on the execution of it for me. I don't mind it on the X3 or X5 or that 3er, but I despise it on the 5er.
the Halfmeister kink.

What I don't understand about the rising line is that the Neue Klasse design study also distinguishes itself by having large window areas for a modern vehicle—something I really appreciated. Now, this design feature is simply being turned completely upside down again.Anyone else feel like BMW needs to drop this 'up-tick' in the rear passenger windows? Agreed. Although I found it interesting I was reading the BMW Design book by Steve Saxty earlier and it was going over E28 proposals, and the designers actually wanted a 3rd window in the c pillar all the way back then, but due to reusing the E12's basic structure they were unable to.My only wish is that they keep the Hofmeister kink on the rear door.. hate that they're leaving it in the C Pillar

I could not agree more - the beauty of the concept car was the oversized windows allowing tons of natural bright light along with such simple lines. It's typical BMW as of the last decade though - constantly disappointing, out of touch, & dropping the ball. I've moved over to Tesla for the 'Ultimate Driving Machine' paired with the best tech. Every other brand feels like a dinosaur. What I don't understand about the rising line is that the Neue Klasse design study also distinguishes itself by having large window areas for a modern vehicle—something I really appreciated. Do you really see such a great departure from the NK Concept? In my eyes it seems like quite an standard translation from concept to production.Sadly this NK 3er has absolutely nothing to do with the mindblowingly stunning concept.
I wouldn't even call it watered down, it's simply another car altogether.
It is the NK concept but adapted to modern suitings such as crash protection, packaging etc. The visual aspects remain but conformity in industrial design continues.Do you really see such a great departure from the NK Concept? They should bring back these type of wheels. The Skytop hopefully shows that they are thinking about them.Agreed.
