The Porsche Cayenne will probably be due for a facelift sometime late next year as a 2015 model, which is good timing since Mercedes-Benz now has a brand new ML and BMW is set to launch an all new X5 very soon. Here’s a first look at a camouflaged Porsche Cayenne facelift being tested, captured by our European spy photographer CarPix.
There are no new details revealed yet as there’s lots of camo on the important bits of the car, but at least the camo lets us know which parts are going to be changed. From these spyshots we see that there are going to be changes to the bumper and lights up front, as well as new slimmer looking rear lights and a changed rear bumper. These changes will probably help the Cayenne look slimmer and more dynamic, especially from the rear view.

Please fix those taillights. That's it.
If it will be THE only element to fix for the Korean-esque rear, then +1(y)

Otherwise re-design the whole rear end;)
I'm hoping for the rearlights to be more like the ones from the panamera sport turismo concept. Simple & sharp not bulky & odd like current model.

i really like it.

2015 Porsche Cayenne Facelift spied testing on the Nürburgring

We saw the Porsche Cayenne facelift for the first time in early April testing in heavy rain. Testing continues and here are the first shots from the Nürburgring race track.
Changes will be similar to the recently introduced Panamera facelift – both exterior and under the skin.
Main exterior changes include new bumpers, new LED daytime lights in the bumper, new redesigned headlights, new air intakes in the bumper and new tail lights.
Biggest updates are under the bonnet, where the Cayenne will go through a similar change as the updated Panamera.
The most interesting addition will be the new Cayenne S E-Hybrid model, replacing the current Cayenne S Hybrid.
The Cayenne S E-Hybrid will use the same plug-in hybrid powertrain found in the Panamera S E-Hybrid, with a system output of 410bhp, combining a new 316bhp 3.0-litre V6 and a 95bhp electric motor. Performance and fuel economy numbers are expected to be very similar to the Panamera S E-Hybrid that delivers an impressive 91mpg, with CO2 emissions of 71 g/km. Purely on EV mode, the range is up to 22 miles and it can reach speeds up to 84mph.
Also the naturally aspirated V8 engine in Cayenne S will be replaced with new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine developing 420 horsepower.
The current entry level 240 hp diesel is also expected to be replaced with a more powerful unit.

More Cayenne Coupé rumors emerged. :)

Porsche plans new five-door Cayenne coupe

More sporting crossover planned as part of expanded Cayenne SUV family, and one of seven new VW Group SUVs

Porsche is planning to expand its Cayenne SUV line-up with a uniquely styled coupé model. Design proposals for the new five-door liftback are described as already being at an advanced phase.

The Cayenne coupé, as the model has been christened in its development, will be positioned as a more sporting alternative to the regular Cayenne. It will receive a range of petrol and diesel engines, together with plug-in petrol-electric and diesel-electric hybrid powertrains, Porsche insiders have confirmed.

It is one of up to seven new SUVs set to be developed on a new version of the VW Group’s MLB platform currently being engineered by Audi.

Tentatively scheduled for introduction in 2018 as part of the third-generation Cayenne line-up, the Cayenne coupé has been conceived as a rival to the growing number of sporting, upmarket crossover-style vehicles, including the BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz MLC and Range Rover Sport.

"We have been considering launching a more sporting derivative of the Cayenne for some time now," a senior Porsche official revealed. "The problem has been the production capacity at our Leipzig factory and the strong sales of the regular Cayenne."

It is also understood that Porsche is concerned about preserving the exclusivity of its 911, Cayman and Boxster sports cars as it expands its SUV range. This will be a factor in whether the model gets the final production go-ahead, although approval does seem likely at present.

With further investment set to increase production capacity at the Leipzig plant when the third-generation Cayenne arrives in 2017, company boss Matthias Müller has brought the coupé variant of Porsche’s strongest-selling model into its new model development programme.

The coupé’s styling will be an evolution of that seen on today’s second-generation Cayenne, a facelift for which is imminent before the third-generation model arrives in 2017. Expect the Cayenne coupé to adopt an edgier look with tauter surfacing and overall styling inspired by the 918 Spyder, as our artist’s impression reveals. A sleeker roofline, narrow glasshouse and sloping rear end will help to differentiate it from the regular Cayenne SUV.

The interior will be shared with the new Cayenne, which again will be heavily influenced by the 918 Spyder hypercar.

The Cayenne coupé is set to be priced around 15 to 20 per cent higher than the current Cayenne, suggesting an entry-level price of around £50,000 for a 3.0-litre petrol V6 variant. As with the current Cayenne, an extensive model range is expected to include GTS, Turbo and Diesel variants, with the range being crowned by a twin-turbocharged petrol V8 with more than 550bhp in the Turbo S.

The chassis is set to be honed at the Nürburgring, with Porsche keen to push the Cayenne coupé’s sporting intentions. It will be lower overall and have a lower ride height than the Cayenne on which it is based, with the intention of giving the more road-focused model a lower centre of gravity.

Porsche Cayenne 'Coupe' rumors return, on sale in 2015 - report

Based on upcoming facelift
A new rumor is indicating Porsche is planning a "coupe" version of the Cayenne.

More than a month ago there was a report suggesting Porsche will launch a coupe-like version of the Cayenne in 2018 based on the third generation. However, it seems we won't have to wait that long as a new rumor suggests such a model will be out as early as next year shortly after the upcoming facelift of the second-gen model.

Although both these reports use the word "coupe", don’t expect the original meaning of the word as the vehicle will have just about the same body style as the BMW X6 and the forthcoming Mercedes-Benz ML Coupe. In other words, expect a more sloped roofline at the back which will have a negative impact on rear room and cargo capacity.

Besides the different body, this new Porsche Cayenne derivative will likely receive a retuned suspension and steering to provide a sharper response. It is believed the model will boast wider front and rear tracks as well as a lowered ride height to offer a sportier driving position.

The standard Cayenne facelift will be revealed in the months to come, possibly in October at the Paris Motor Show before going on sale late this year. If this rumor will turn out to be true, the "coupe" version will be introduced in the first half of 2015.
